It was not a actual race since i just picked up the car 3 days ago, and have to go easy on the gas. Anyways, i was at this stop light , one silver slk55 came next to me, i wasnt paying attention, then this old person in the slk started to spin the tires and took off, i thought he was just trying to show off. Then we enter the highway, all the sudden he just floor it and cut right in front of me , i was like wtf!!! :mad: But i just cant do it, its only like 90 km at the clock, man, that really pissed me off. Here is the question, the slk has 350hp and 370ft with 3400 lb. Would i be able to take him with a proceed installed?

An E55 did something similar to me this weekend...but he has 469 bhp. He had me..but he definitely didnt walk on me. I think he was surprised by my performance. I shut down at about 80-90 mph.

Yes, Procede, Exhaust, Light wheels, wide tires. Here are some 1/4 mile times from German Invasion track day at LACR. I did a 13.371 @ 102.94 that day.

He did beat the AMG's at LACR due to the elevation and heat. Supercharged and NA engines loose a great amount of power at high elevation. I believe that day had a 6300 feet elevation quivalent.

Motortrend got the SLK55 AMG at 12.8 1/4 mile.

At sea level, I don't think you'll be able to beat it, even with Procede, but it should be a fairly close race.

you beat these benzes by reaction time, their trap speeds are higher

higher trap speed=faster car
at the end of the 1/4 mile they're going 3-4 mph faster than you

the benz is faster, but you're a better driver than they are

I dun see why not, there is only 100lb of weight between these two cars and with the proceed i will be able to put down at least 325rwhp and thats at 91oct i am talking about without any other aftermarket parts on my car. i cant imagine he's face once i am done with this summer's goal( light-weight rims, wider tires, LSD, downpipes, exhaust, 93oct of course the PROCEED!!!! ). I actually believed more in this car than myself

I dun see there are many chance they can beat us on the street with 100+ mph, its always from this stop light to the next, the fact is we can get there faster:rocks:

but those drag strip times from our pal above show that those mercedes are all faster even than a "tuned" 335

that's the SL55, the SLK55 will beat you even worse since it's lighter than the SL

look at the trap speeds.

no...the fact is that you had one encounter with an SLK55 and didn't even race him b/c you were still breaking in your new ride. so the notion that the 335i is quicker to 100mph than the SLK55 is not fact, but speculative at best, until you've had a chance to run one yourself. the very first response to your question was the simplest and most correct answer. even after you've got your PROceed, its going to be a driver's race. if you're both respectable drivers, you'll either barely edge him out or vice versa. if you walk away from him, and you know for sure he is stock, then you beat the driver, not the SLK55. i'm afraid you'll have to wait until all those other "summer mods" go on the car before you can rest assured that your 335i is in fact the faster car.

Everyone is saying equal driver seems to forget the MB is an AUTO. You just need to press the pedal. That being said the 335i doesn't stand a chance against a SLK55 - PROcede can't save you on this one. A STOCK SLK55 does a 12.8 quarter as just posted. I have yet to see a PROcede 335 run below 13 (I think the lowest is 13.2 or 3). And all of those 335i's have DRs or at least wider than stock tires. If you get wider tires to make you faster the MB does too and you lose by an even wider margin.
