I don't care if people are posting in other forums besides OT, chatting about things, etc. in order to get their posts up---if that is what they want then fine. But pointless blatant whoring to such a ridiculous extent is uncalled for. The admins spend a great deal of time and money keeping this site running so fast and allowing it to be free for everyone without even accepting donations. Maybe you should think about that a little and see if you still feel the same.

yes, the expressed pretext was post whoring but the foundation of the whole thread was community chatting not unlike those that are already in progress. You're forgetting the other objective of this forums, that is to build community which is what every thread has here aspired to do. In that regards, its not fair for you to dismiss the thread and other similar regional or non-regional threads.

I don't see an arguement here. Anyone looking through the thread can obviously see the uselessness of the posts. If someone wants to talk about something in order to build community (ie. "What's everyone doing tonight?", "Check out my new shoes", "Where is the best pizza around here?" then they can make a thread about it because that thread I linked to is just a mess of nothing.

I'm sorry you viewed it as nothing, many of us saw it as casual banter touching on various aspects of daily life. Yes some of the posts were borderline silly but really are most posts on this forum devoid of light heartedness. Yes, I've dabbled in that thread quite a few times, and you know what, I didn't think it was any more a waste of my time. Within those posts I have grown closer with understanding of my fellow posters whom I've never had the pleasure of getting to know. Posters like matsarge, autobot, Dleo and on and on. Great folks.

What this thread and other regional chat threads is showing is that the passion and camraderie of community that our esteemed admins/founders, Mark and Jason has created, is fast breaching the holds of the forum format. To me I think that is a great thing Long live the community!

Come on. There's several posts that are 5 words or less. Including some that are only one word. It's a waste of space.
