Patient Dies Family Blames HospitalLOS ANGELES, May 15, 2007

King-Harbor Hospital, formerly called King-Drew, is once again the focus of an investigation after a 43-year old patient dies.



According to the Los Angeles Times, on May 08, 2007 the hospital prescribed Edith Isabel Rodriguez pain medication for intense abdominal pain, and released her.

But the woman's family alleges that hospital personnel did nothing while Rodriguez wriggled in pain on the emergency room floor.

Family members say hospital staff rejected the boyfriend's pleas for help.

Officers then took Rodriguez into custody because of an outstanding arrest warrant. That's when Rodriguez became unresponsive and died.
