E60 530i V.S Camry 3.5 (aurion)... need input...

So my cuzn will race a new camry 3.5 (here called AURION), with a 530i...

since the 530i has the same engine as the 330i (N52), he was woundering what would be the best techneque...

the race will be for about 1 mile...

- should he start from a dig??

- Should he start at 50 mph??

- should he start at a high speed (70+ mph)??

also, my cuzn heard that reducing tire pressure will be useful, is that true??

i need input from 330i owners, or anyone who can give useful info...

oh and to be clear, the race will take place in an empty road, so no concern regarding saftey...

What's the top speed of a Camry? I know the speedo goes up to 160 but does it actually go that fast?

your cousin will lose to the camry...why?

camry puts out more power and torque, and since it's FWD, it loses less HP to the drive train.

less air in tires helps traction... if u had too much air to begin with!

Go from a dig, the FWD will screw him over. Tell him to power brake (foot on brake and foot on gas revving it to 2k rpm).

Remember german HP is different that jap HP, usually jap HP is over estimated and german HP is underestimated.

not after they standardized the HP... now the japanese is accurate and the german is underrated. bmw more specifically.

I would bet on the Camry; it will win. I have seen 0-60mph in low 6s for the Camry compared to low 7s for the 530i Step.

That was the 230HP version. Now they have 268HP and a lot of torque.

no worries, it's still a camry. If you wanted to go fast you wouldn't have gotten a 530.. you want go? get a 135!!

you get 2 camry's for the price of the 530....

if he wants to win, 2 S-turns and its his for the taking, unless he doesnt know how to drive and goes too slow through the turns...

Yea the camry's torque is what gets the 330.... either way my cousin still gets a

when I take circle onramps at 65mph in the 330........ Or if I just want to simply kick his ass no matter what, I take out the 335

hmmmmm, i see...

no the race would be in a straight line, otherwise there's no question that the 530i would take the camry...

oh and, the 530i has an estimate 0-60 in 6.5 secs, but not sure about the camry...

Also, u cant turn the traction control off in the camry, that gives an advantage to my cousin, if they start from a dig...

yesterday we had some test runs, when i saw the 530i speedometer, i couldnt believe that a camry can go faster, even at high speeds, we reached 170 mph easily!

we just have to wait and see on wednesday...
