1 Series
Curiosity has the best of me.
How many of us would move down to the 1 series if it comes with the N54 bi turbo? I would post a poll (tried) but, sadly I am not tech savvy enough to get it up here. Last edited by smellthebeans; 04-28-2007 at 09:27 AM.. |

I have heard in Calendar year 2008? maybe 09
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/17/i...in-135i-guise/ I heard part of the marketing strategy is to draw from the lineage of a 1600 or 2002. Ad campaign that shows a cloud or fog with the 2002 head lights then busting out of the fog comes a 1 series. something along the lines "we haven't forgotten our heritage". I would certainly test drive one. I drove a 335 coupe at BMW of Austin....as everyone knows its Wicked fast....:rocks: Last edited by smellthebeans; 04-28-2007 at 10:26 AM.. |

We looked at another Mini again, had it on loan for 48 hours, to be honest I was bored of it after 2 hours, loved the one we had before the one series but couldn't go back again.

I actually really like the hatch back 1 in Europe. I'd even consider buying an M version. Very cool, very sporty, very quick, very small. beep beep, I'm coming through!

Agreed...the 1 series hatchback is a much better design. If they released that in US spec I would definatly buy one... but the 135 pictured above...no thanks!

I am waiting for the Z2. That will be significantly lighter than the 1 series.

I have mixed feelings about this car... already there are too many bmw's around and this is going to cheapen the brand.. all those ricers will now be driving these...
I do like the way the front looks but the back doesn't look right. Stick with the hatchbacks. |

I just dropped $45K for a 335 that is almost the exact size and weight as my old 1997 5 Series. What happened to small, lightweight tossable cars from BMW? I love the 335, but its not because it small, lightweight and tossable.
There is no question that this car makes sense. Smaller, more lightweight, more tossable, at or under $30K. It wasn't that long ago that those things meant it was a 3 series... Last edited by mike fab; 04-28-2007 at 03:09 PM.. Reason: grammar |

135i will be interesting, that's for sure. I just don't know that it would be big enough for me, unfortunately. The 3er already is about as small as I can go now that I have kids.

you should drive one if you haven't a mini makes an E9X feel like a pig, cooper S is the most fun car BMW makes right now. I want the 1 so I could get a small fun car, without all the cutesy junk (12" diameter speedo) that the mini has |
