August Auto Sales: BMW sales drop slightly

NEW YORK (AP) - BY THE NUMBERS: BMW AG sold 23,924 BMW and Mini brand vehicles in the U.S. last month, down 0.2 percent from a year earlier.
TOP SELLER: Sales of the BMW 3 Series rose 5 percent to 8,775.
HOT MODELS: Sales of the 5 Series were up 41 percent to 4,294. Sales of the X3 sport utility vehicle rose 167 percent to 2,382.
