Korea circa 1972-1980
After looking at ///Mik3's great post with pictures of modern day Korea, I decided to scan some of my old B&W photos that I took back when I was stationed there between 1972-1980.
The first few photos were taken at the Korean Folk Village at Suwon. This lady was selling "yeot", a traditional chewy Korean candy. This man was making birdcages. A traditional Korean kitchen. The next few pictures were taken at Sorak-san, a mountain range in the northeast part of South Korea. The next few pictures were taken in Seoul at a palace garden with infrared film. The last picture was taken in the countryside outside Osan AB using infrared film. Note that the farmhouse has a thatched roof. I doubt that there aren't any farmhouses like this left these days outside of historical recreated villages. |

Nice pics. Looks like the Korea I knew. I was there in '77-78 and again in '79-80. I swear I've been in that kitchen.
