Pulled over Saturday Night, only 4 Days... I earned it.
Suspected DUI Yup. Was out in a small town near the sound where I live on a fairly quiet tree lined street. The Wife sitting next to me, just out enjoying a drive, something we hadn't done in years.
No I had NOT had ANY alcohol, none. I'm a sportbike guy deep down and the Anti-Alcohol and transportation is still deep seated. BUT I was swerving erratically, and slowing way down, only to SPEED WAY up and then weave around some more all the while. The Officer seemed particularly amused (Or Concerned) with the amount of time I spent driving slowly through a squared off concrete underpass only to accelerate wildly out of it, slow, and begin weaving again. Mmmmmmmm, Was just loving the sounds coming off the overpass, awesome. I was also just playing with the adaptive lighting. Now it was Saturday, and it was approaching Midnight. In hindsight probably not the best time of the day or week to be out playing around in the new car. Regardless After about 10 minutes or so I was rather dramatically set upon by two cruisers all full of pretty lights, one behind and one approaching from a side street about 1/4mile ahead. I was more amused than alarmed really. I could only imagine what they had been witnessing out here. I shut off the engine, fired up the interior lights and faced forward. We do the traditional exchange of information, (Of which I had very little, No license (hadn't thought to grab it), No Proof Of insurance (Card hasn't arrived yet) BUT, I DID have my temp registration and a big old temp tag shining brightly in the rear window. Probably saved my butt. I answer a few questions and could see the dawning recognition that I was just out playing with a new car and not intoxicated. However... I think they were bored. Next thing you know I'm on the sidewalk, touching the nose, balancing on one foot, watching a pen move, and reciting the alphabet (Which I failed). No worries, obviously I was just out playing. I actually got a "have a good Night, Enjoy Your new car." So I fire up Mortis and took the long way home. I am really going to enjoy this car, excellent sounds, great handling, fits like a glove. I felt like a teenager getting busted for being out after curfew. Good stuff.

A great story. I can admit, and I'm sure 99% of us can admit to this type of behavior when we first got our cars. I'm glad the cops were cool with it, and I'm glad to hear that you are being responsible and not drinking and driving.

On the insurance card, unless you have some small mom and pop company (if there even are any) they could have/should have e-mailed a printable copy to the dealer before you pulled out of the parking lot.

Edmonds... On the Way into Woodway, Woodway Park Road I think it is, or 3rd Ave. It's a pretty empty little street.

Lucky about what? OP wasn't doing anything wrong and the PO was just doing his job.
All's well that ends well! No harm, no foul! Good story!

Lols. Think of the positives here....you provided the cops a training opportunity for FSTs (Field Sobriety Tests). At least they did ask you those questions like....When did the War of 1812 start?

The cops out there are very laid back, it's a sleepy little waterfront community and where the Wife and I'll will be moving here eventually. It actually has a downtown... A genuine small town feel downtown. Now that I think about my attitude WAS probably why I got a Roadside... I was just too damn happy and friendly, they figured what the hell, get him out here and lets practice. I'm just glad they didn't need Stun gun or Felony Warrant practice... I hate it when that happens.

Great story! Glad you didn't get a ticket. And I will admit to the swerving at night as well--watching the lights move back and forth with the car is a lot of fun....

I just hope that I never get so jaded, or so "UN-IMPRESSED" that the idea of having fun with a new car is so alien.

That's pretty much what got me in trouble, that stretch of road is fairly dark and there is a long straight section where the lights moving was really obvious. I thought it was pretty damned entertaining, then under the overpass the engine sounded so good...
