New Audi A5

Is it just my imagination or does the back end of the A5 look "Bimmerish" ?
http://www.autoblog.com/photos/audi-a5/

Nice looking but not too keen about the interior though. Still prefer mine.
what do you guys think ?

I had an Audi before I bought my current car. The Audi is a great car, but it just ain't no BMW.

That tail is indeed very bimmerish. Even though I don't have a coupe, I still think the E92 tail is better. Generally, I've liked Audi's interiors, but this one I am not enamoured with.

I dunno but the whole thing makes me think of the previous generation Hyundai Tiburon.

I'm curious to see the retail price of the V6 and V8 compared to the 335i and the new M3. It will be interesting to see the comparisons when it's out.
Still think that the 3 Series looks better.

I am not an Audi fan, however the Euro prices for the A5 are quite competitive compared to the e93 335. The s5 with four wheels drive, "s" rich equipment and 354 bhp costs 55.000 euro compared to 46.000 euro of a "basic" e92 335.
The Bimmer is nicer to look at, IMO.

Too chunky, especially around the C pillar. Ass-end is visually too high because of the trim. Probably not an issue on dark cars.

I would consider it if I had to have 4wd. But I don't, so no contest, BMW way better. If you want more performance get the Quaife LSD and PROcede and you are in R territory.

I am not sure if you can be an AUdi and a BMW fan but i am. I have an Audi
A4 2.0T and i love that car. i also love my e90, anyways, the A5 looks excellent. I always prefered audi interiors for some reason, they just look more inviting and they are very user friendly. The back of the A5 looks very bimmerish but i love the big trapazoidal grille on Audi s nowadays, they just stand out.

Thank God there is another rational person out there! I just finished a second 3 year lease of an Audi A4 and I too loved those cars. If the A5 had been available when my lease was up I would have been sorely tempted. I am in the 335i as I wanted something different after 6 years of essentially the same interior with the Audi - mind you, the fact that the 335 goes like stink didn't come in to plat at all - LOL.

I think the A5 looks great and it could be a good seller at USA.

Yeah, and the front has a Chrysler or Dodge Daytona look to it. Did MB buy Audi?

I know this is a bimmer forum and one can't expect people to give unbiased opinion but there's really nothing more beautiful on the road than the A5.

It Looks like a Buick or Toyota, very bland. Except for the signature grill, car could be any number of Asian Marquees. Dash Layout reminds me of a 1975 Toyota Celica GT. Seems tired.

OK…. it looks better than a Buick.

I think that car looks great and will probably be a big seller in the US, however I just love my E92 more. I'm definately not a fan of the C-pillar of the A5 (gotta love BMW's Hoffmeister kink!), and just Audi's reputation of reliability and handling not being QUITE up to par of BMW are big factors that would keep me from buying the Audi if I didn't have my E92 and I was going to make a purchase when the A5 was available. I do love the Audi's interior though, it looks like it has BMW's lost driver-oriented cockpit that seems to have vanished with the E38 7-Series, E39 5-Series, and E46 3-Series. The lack of old-school BMW interior styling is pretty much the only thing I don't like about my E92.

Sorry, you guys can flame me all you want, but that car is actually REALLY nice in person. I saw it at the Geneva auto show, the pictures here don't really do it justice at all.
Don't get me wrong I still prefer the look of the E92, but the A5 is a serious challenger for those who don't care that much about driving dynamics...

I agree with Phil, BMW lost their interior appeal with me a long time ago. Well i think Audi reliability isn't that bad. I have had more problems with my e90 than my A4 2.0T- 50000 miles not 1 problem. And handling wise, im not that much of a driver whos big on handling, in this case Audis are a little more softer so i like them. I LOVE the big Grille, its not Chrysler 300 UGLY at all. think it gives the car something special. It fits the audi well. to me the A6 is one of the prettiest cars on the road.

my 2 cents.
