2011 Le Mans Footage
Post em as you see them
One of my fav aspects of Le Mans over the years is definitely the Corvette Sounds Good substitute for the absence of the old Panoz The Audi R18 brake lights are wicked @ 2:41 Last edited by Mpower77i; 06-10-2011 at 09:00 AM.. |

I almost forgot about it! then I won't be able to forgive myself. Will it be on Speed?
wow, the speed difference between Ps and GTs were evident on Mulsane. Did you see they'll have the Lotus Evora in GTE this year? Last edited by mdosu; 06-09-2011 at 10:56 PM.. |

Glad McNish is ok.
Amazing stuff. Looks it it will be a pitch battle to end in GTE, between Ferrari, BMW, Porsche and Corvette. The world's best production based GT cars in a flat out in a 3,500 mile race. Just as it should be. |

Glad everyone walked away but that crash should have never happened. Do you really need to be that aggressive going into that corner less that 1 hour into a 24 hour race?

Yea, and I sincerely dont think youre exaggerating when you say boneheaded. The GT cars should only have to worry about the prototype behind him, not the prototype behind the prototype who wants to pass two cars at the same time.

#1 Audi has crashed, again caused by a GTE car. Rocky was at the wheel. The car is destroyed. No word yet on the condition of the driver.
EDIT: Word from the track is that Rocky got out of the car under his own power and saught refuge behind the guard rail until emergency crews arrived. I think with these 2 crashes (both caused by Ferrari's), if they were in the open-cockpit R10's and R15's, they may not have survived. But thats just my opinion. These R18's saved lives.

Fucking checkbook racers! The guy who crashed Rocky was some douchebag banker from New York who bought a seat at Le Mans. I hope they beat his brains out with a tire iron.

That said, from the replays that I've seen, and various other observations from the race, the GTE (Amateur) class needs to be rethought, or the racing qualifications required of the Amateurs who are racing needs to be stringently reviewed.

The McNish crash was not the fault of the Ferrari, he went in there way too fast, I doubt he would have made the turn anyway.

Of course he didnt intend to hit him, however it just goes to show how little he wasnt paying attention to his surroundings. Rocky flashed his lights way ahead of time, that Ferrari should never have been that close to the inside of that kink. |
