Rolling Race LFA vs GTR vs GT2 RS vs ZR1

**************************car-videos-11...-RS-vs-ZR1.htm

Surprising, considering it looks like he starts in 2nd gear in the ZR1.

Corvette destroys the most ferocious street legal 911 ever built(for less than 1/2 the price) and then has Japans best for dessert right after.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. The ZR1 is a fercious track car (not a straight line only car).
http://www.caranddriver.com/features...p_2009-feature
ZR1 - 2:51.8
M3 - 3:05.4
http://www.caranddriver.com/features...p_2011-feature
GT3RS - 2:55.9
Z06 - 2:53.5

Oh, and for the first time, you'll be able to get Michelin Pilot Sport Cups as an option on the Z06 and ZR1. Look out!

Yeah but it takes an engine almost twice the size with a pump on it to do it.

Fast is nice but you can't drive it anywhere near it's limit. But you have to live with crude and cheap every single day.

And at $110,300 base they're not that cheap.

http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-zr1/

A $20.00 quartz Timex from Walmart is more accurate than a Rolex. Which would you rather have?

The Cup tires are tons better than what Corvettes have worn in past years. They will shave considerable times off lap times and equal the playing field further as many other manufactures have used Cup tires for testing for a long time now. I look forward to results.

Wow, comparing a car which laps the Nordschleife in 7:26, ahead of many of the World top Sports cars to a Timex? And than calling it 'cheap and crude'.
"Cant drive it anywhere near its limit"? Maybe the owner of a soccer mom, grocery getter X3 cant come close but alot of drivers can and do.

I have a Rolex Submariner and a 610bhp S/C'd C6 Corvette. Neither are cheap or crude.

It also does it with one cam shaft, packaging efficiency, it can be serviced just about anywhere, and you can beat on it all day and not worry about it.

I am, and have always been a porsche fan, but give the chevy its due

Why are you even comparing interiors and leather?
Stock seats get replaced for bucket seats anyways.

People who look into ZR1 & GT2RS look at it from a performance standpoint and are most likely track enthusiasts.

ZR1 does a better job for a lower price.

Subjective at best

Nordschleife Lap Times
Porsche GT2 RS - 7:18.00
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 - 7:26.40

Now this by no means everything but neither does a straight line speed test.

He thinks its comical to 'poke' Corvette owners and does the little laughy smilie thing at the end but its not funny and hes the only one giggling. Childish behavior. And coming from an X3 driver that can haul groceries but not haul ass makes it even sadder.

I bought an X3 because my wife and I are both retired and travel a lot. They are practical, carry luggage easily, are safe and get good gas mileage.

My X3 is considerably faster than it's legal to drive it anywhere in North America. Whats so sad about that?

I'm not the only one poking fun at Corvettes. Actually this is kind of sad.

That used to be the case until Chevy decided to try to compete in revs with the OHC folks.

It takes some very high spring rates to reverse the inertia of a valve, rocker, pushrod and lifter.

Google: corvette broken valve springs

I probably wouldn't be so down on Corvettes if they had continued to evolve.

Every one I've ever seen rolling down the road still had stock seats in it. My point is that you cannot use all that power, and speed, stuck in commuter traffic. You can't even use it legally on the wide open freeway.

At least if it has good fit, finish, ergonomics, a quiet cabin, and butter soft leather seats you can enjoy that all the time. Corvettes are not known for their high quality interiors yet they are not inexpensive.

Obviously no 2012 GT-R yet, but here you go:
http://www.caranddriver.com/features...n_gt-r_page_20
GT-R - 2:55.6

Yes, the new GT-R will be quicker, but when you add the cup tires to the Vettes....

Oh, keep on complaining about the interior of the Vette. Once you drive one, you'll never notice it. The Z06 is a fantastic car. I owned one.

What's sad is that it's likely the worst vehicle that BMW produced in 2009. Until they completely redesigned it, the vehicle was terrible. I have unfortunately had to drive one for extended periods as it is the pos they give me when I need a loaner for a few days (I live out of town).

There is no luxury, no performance, no technology in a last gen X3.

To own one and then try to discount a ZR1/Z06 is laughable, as you clearly have zero idea what you're talking about.

So, thats your defense? Your're retired and have a vehicle that can carry alot of shit and, it can do more than the speed limit anyway? How pathetically sad, yet funny at the same time!

With an attitude like that I dont think you should strain yourself talking about performance cars. Leave discussions about fast cars to those who have them and enjoy them. You might give yourself another stroke thinking about going fast.

And as icing on the cake, a retired American Veteran posts a video of a couple foreigners who can barely speak English make fun of the American Iconic Sports Car. Bravo rs.
