Audi R8 Status
This is from the Internet Sales Manager from Audi of Livermore (CA)
I was looking at the RS4 they have there and was thinking of buying it. I sent them an e-mail at about 10 PM and I got a response at about 11 PM or so. Anyways I assumed that it was a canned answer but later I found out it wasn't when he replied back to me! Talk about service! In any case, he has a M3 SMG with the Comp. Pkg right now and this is what he sent me today... __________________________________________________ __________ The 335i Coupe is the hottest car in BMW's stable right now. If I was replacing the the M3 with a BMW it's be a 335i Coupe or Sedan. I was at Firebird Raceway for Audi training on the TT and R8. They had all the R8's in the US right now for training dealer personnel. The twelve R8's are hand built, Pre-Production units for the purpose we were using them: testing and training. When we arrived for the initial welcoming/orientation session we we escorted to bleachers in a large tent above the small road course at the Bondurant Driving School. Just after we were seated six R8's came flying down the long straight from our blind side and proceeded to do 5 hot laps at about 9/10's (one car length apart). The speed was of course very fast. Not surprising since two magazines already have 0-60 at 3.9. The saddest news is we're only getting 200 for the whole US this first year and the three we're getting are already sold. __________________________________________________ _____________ Wow... The R8 = In any case, if anyone is looking for an Audi (shame on you) then I would give him a shout... anyone from a dealer who can answer an e-mail at 11PM has props in my book Ed Jung Cell (925) 915-0278 ejung@livermore.dealerspace.com |

If I had that kind of money and already had a BMW I would go for an R8. Porsches are everywhere on the road. The R8 is something new & fresh and they will be pretty exclusive for a while.
I was driving home one night on the 215 East in the Henderson, NV area and there were 4 R8s all in a row. Pictures really dont do the car justice |
