I think this is direction that DSLRs will end up going, too: Mirrorles, etc. I'll be kind of bummed because I prefer an optical viewfinder vs. digital, but ultimately removing the mirror components will make DSLRs (or whatever they end up being called) more reliable and durable.

They are called........

EVIL!!!

(Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens)

Muahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

I know, they have some other acronyms, but I like EVIL the best, as it represents how I feel about it. Sadly, I do think someday the SLR will be a dinosaur. But not yet. Not yet.....

No thanks. I like my dedicated buttons on the dslrs, this looks overly complicated.

why would you want to take something that works perfectly fine and complicate it with so much technology

not to mention it allows people without photoshop or other editing software to create and tweak different pp effects effortlessly, on-the-go, and in real time. i'd definitely be interested in something like this. too bad it's probably going to cost as much, if not more than the top-of-the-line dslrs out

mmm... add wireless strobes to that system, and the possibilities are endless.

I would, if the quality is equally as good. Getting rid of moving parts means I won't have to send in my bodies to get them fixed or adjusted every year or less. It also means no more dust getting on the mirror or sensor if it's sealed. Also it means less chance of internal breakage if it gets dropped while I'm out climbing up the side of a hill (which happened a couple of weeks ago, thankfully no damage to the camera - just me.)

No joke brah!

I have plenty of touch devices. Right now I'm posting this on an iPad.

What I mean by complicated is I don't want to dig down through menus and sliders just to change an aperture or shutter setting... I like having dedicated buttons for those common functions.

My other problem with something like is that it's packing so many features. Sure the in camera filters and auto corrections look amazing in the video but they rarely work out like that in real life.

But, I would still give it a chance if someone made this concept.

Too complicated? Huh? This take a lot of the complication and makes it next-to-transparent. I REALLY like this concept- very well done.

However, the one big shortcoming is no eyepiece viewfinder, electronic or otherwise. Photographers often need to shoot somewhere without much light, or somewhere very bright, and a viewfinder is the best way to facilitate that. ESPECIALLY in low light, because you can brace the camera better that way. It's unstable holding it in front of you.

An optical viewfinder is also superior for action photography.

Perhaps they could have optional optical rangefinder style viewfinders that attach to something like a hot-shoe.
