Buyer's Remorse

Went shopping for a suit today. Have a few weddings coming up that I need to look good for. Ended up with a black Armani number to the tune of $1900 w/tailoring. I got caught up in the moment and bought a Stefano Ricci shirt and Brioni shirt/tie for another grand. Thinking of returning the shirts/tie. I mean $600 for a shirt? I'm afraid to wash it but can't stand the thought of some random dry cleaner touching it either. Guessing that isn't a good sign. I can afford it, but shit, it's a shirt. And it's not even made from a virgin's pubic hair.

Thoughts? Have until the 30th to return/keep it when I pick up my tailoring.

600 for a shirt? I expect it to be measured on my body, made of virgin skin, while getting head during the fitting.

There are great off the shelf shirts with great fits in the $100-200 range. Boss Slim fits are around 130 and fit great if you arent a fatty.

First of all i must be in the wrong profession. 600 big ones for a shirt....god damn thats alot. I'm sure you can find a nice shirt for a less. Plus if it doesn't feel good to you then it's probably not good.

Return the suit while you are at it. Armani suits are overhyped.

Return the shirts, that's way too much. You can find really high quality shirts for less than 1 monthly payment on that bimmer.

I had 3 shirts custom made for less than $600, I'd take that thing back with the quickness.

for sure return the shirt, no shirt cant be worth that much

+1 for the Hugo Boss shirts, they are really nice and fit skinny people like me perfectly.

$150 is prob the most I'll spend on a shirt, there are so many great shirts from $50-100 that anything over $150 is just a waste.

return the shirt, as you said, even ignoring the ridiculous price tag, there's no random dry cleaner I'd trust with that.... I've had dry cleaner ruin $10 shirts, and $20 jackets, wouldn't trust them with a $600 shirt

You pay for what you get..... Up to a point on certain products. You're probably paying a lot for the silk and the fact that it's (handmade?) in Italy I would assume. On shirts, it's my opinion that paying for the name and these things is a waste when you get past about $200.

Return that shirt.

as others have stated, I'd return the shirt. Suit's been modded to your specs so enjoy it with a couple nice but less expensive shirts. With the rest of the money you can buy a new pair of shoes, ties, or whatever

Even if I had millions I can't see myself spending that much money on one shirt. There is a Brooks Brother's outlet by me and I get my shirts there for around $90 a piece.
