How is there no TRON thread
THIS MOVIE WAS THE SHIT. The 3D was top notch; easily blew Avatar out of the water. The styling, the pacing and the soundtrack (fuckin Daft Punk) were all incredible.
I'm gonna go throw another $20 down to see it in 3D one more time.

watched it this weekend....so disappointing imo
3d was pretty basic...sometimes couldn't even tell when it was 2d and when it was 3d. story and plot was pretty boring and predictable, the only thing good from the movie were visuals, including olivia wilde (so hot with the short black hair) and beau barrett. also seeing daft punk but otherwise, meh...

They could have picked a better lead male actor, IMO.

pretty much this kind of disappointing to see that daft punk went this route. have you heard their new "album"? it's a joke. the past couple of years they have gotten pretty mainstream. not that theres anything wrong with that i guess, but i think kanye west officially killed them. every 13 year old and their classmate knows them by now, along with deadmau5 lol |

oops....spelling fail. yeah, she looked way good. beau garrett looked good in that setup, but real life she's a couple points down the board

the story plot was absolutely uninteresting. wearing 3D glasses for an essentially 2D movie for 2hr was stupidly annoying. the motorcycle chase was awesome though and definitely two thumbs up for Beau Garrett and Olivia Wilde.

do you mean the soundtrack? I loved it. it could have been a little better but overall I thought it was great. It worked well in the movie. yeah they've gotten mainstream, but Im more bothered with Deadmau5 than Daft Punk lol

The first TRON movie was panned by critics too... Only way after it's release did it garner a huge cult following.
Also, anytime you remake/make a sequel to something that is such a cult movie, you are automatically going to polarize the audience in a major way. People will either like it or hate it (not much in between) which seems to be the case with the people that I've talked to. I'm going to see it after Christmas sometime. I don't care what anyone says, I'll form my own opinion... Olivia Wilde is HOT. She was hot in the Black Donnellys and super hot in House.... I look forward to seeing her in tight vinyl and glowing in the dark. |

I'm waiting to see it in IMAX 3D and blaze up beforehand. I've heard it'll be like a dollar coaster, almost as much as Inception

whatever, the movie was badass imo. i don't bother listening to critics to form my own opinion about a movie, and i'm not expecting some sort of brilliant plot from a tron sequel. i loved the first tron, i love daft punk, and i loved the 3d effects. everyone i went with loved it too and are gonna see it again.
and yeah, the lead actor was a bit wooden. wish they replaced him.
