ATLANTA — Authorities say a driver enraged because a 17-year-old boy egged his Mercedes on Halloween fatally shot the prankster in the neck and throat as he tried to run away. Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones says the driver confronted the teen and fired 10 shots at him around 8 p.m. Sunday. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office says the teen, Tivarus King, died as he was being taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Jones says officers dispatched to the scene in northwest Atlanta spotted a gold Mercedes driving by and detained the driver. She says the suspect is being questioned by homicide investigators but has not yet been charged.

I agree. I feel bad that he ended up dying after participating in somewhat halfway common "kid stuff", but I don't feel bad at all that he encountered consequences for his actions. It was a conscious decision that bit him in the ass. Oh well.

It's unfortunate for sure... but I'm personally not going to loose any sleep over it. People have been killed for less.


As macabre as it might seem for me to take this viewpoint people (kids/adults/etc.) need to know that when you screw with someone, it's a roll of the dice how they are going to act and be willing to accept the consequences. Unfortunatly this kid died, but until we as a group stop respecting criminals we're going to constantly be the victims.

here is where it happened...he must have thought the car belonged to a white person...because no rational black kid would egg a gold mercedes owned by a black man in this neighborhood and expect to get away with it...

What have we lost = an unintelligent, rude, disrespectful and presumably useless child, providing nothing to our society.

What we gained = one less disrespectful child, more resources for the nice folks

but turning my emotions back on, i agree with what someone posted earlier, he didn't deserve to die, maybe just be beat a little to teach him to become a respectful person when he's older. (or turn him into a criminal :S)

if that had been my mercedes, i would have definitely felt like shooting him, but I wouldnt have gone through with it. maybe hold him at gunpoint and make him do stupid shit (kiss the ground, bitch) and post it on his facebook for all his friends to see :P

i feel bad that the kid died, the punishment definitely doesn't fit the crime. but then again, that's why you don't do shit like that - you never know who exactly it is you're messing with

In this day and age you got to assume that most people are carrying a gun, espescially in a rough neighborhood like that. Kid didn't deserve to die, maybe just get clipped in the knee or shoulder to teach him a lesson.
