Help me with this VIRUS
I got this Antivirus 2010 virus on my XP and I can't detect its threats with Malwarebytes (It did detect 8 threats and I removed them) and Avast Free. I assume that the virus is not totally removed. How do I remove it? Thanks.

Another clueless Mac user....
Macs CAN get viruses too. Macs are actually more prone to getting viruses because their users think they are invincible to them and start clicking everything. @OP, Do what Collins and Doug suggested. And Superantispyware is a real anti-spyware program :P (saw it suggested in the first vid). |

AV 2010 is extremely annoying to remove. Get a PartPE disc and see if you can remove it with some full-version Anti Spyware/Malware utilities.
Also, don't try to set its permissions to not open up. It'll break everything. I tried it thinking I was outsmarting it I'd also suggest upgrading to Win 7. You can run System Restore from the install disc on your computer. That will fix your AV 2010 problem if it ever crops up; worked very well on my room mate's computer. |

Despite the stupid name, SuperAntiSpyware works well. Download and install it, but don't bother updating yet. Reboot and go into Safe Mode with Networking. Then open it and run the update. Then run the scan.

One of my dumbass employees got that. It's a real pest. I did a complete reinstall of the OS. Nothing worked against it

amazed how much problems people are having with this one...I've already fixed it on 2 machines... now i just gotta remember how I did it, it wasn't THAT bad. a total nuisance, but quite doable
(nothing compared to some of the old ones that used to be around there...like the SOB that shut down your computer every 30 seconds) |
