Post your BMW bikes
Just wondering how many of you that drive BMW cages are also into BMW motorcycles. I will start with my 2010 S1000RR.

You'll have to review it in comparison to the CBR, I'd like to know what the difference is (besides 400cc obviously). Nice bike.

I ride, but not a Beemer. I would like to have a R1200GSA some day though, as well as that S1000RR. And a Ducati, and an MV Augusta, and a Bimota, and, and, and.........

I rode a scooter once. Ended up crashing it into a trashcan. A few years later a friend let me try out his dirt bike. I drove it down the street a few hundred feet, turned around and drove back. Upon stopping I tried to get off and it fell over (I'm short so it was hard to balance on my tippy toes and get off). I've decided 2 wheeled vehicles aren't for me.

If you want a comparison between the S1000RR and a CBR 600 I think I can help since I also own '04 and '06 CBR600RR and '04 R1. Compared the the CBR's this bike is nowhere near those. The bimmer makes a 600cc bike feel like a toy. I have ridden almost every 600cc bike out there and there's nothing that can come even close. The BMW with its race ABS and DTC is amazing to ride. Compared to my R1 this bike is ages ahead. I thought my R1 was a great handling bike. Now I realize that I am constantly wrestling the bike to make it go fast and put it where I want it. The BMW is so composed and easy to ride fast. Where ever you think you want to be in the turn the BMW will take you there, fast, without any drama. Now, lets talk about the power. WOW, this bike is amazing, fast will not even come close to describe the way this bike builds up speed. The quickshifter on it is also an added bonus, now I am spoiled and the other bikes just sit there. If you are planning on getting one, you will not be disappointed, I promise.

Nice review. Now I really want a 1000RR. I thought I'd stick with the 600s just because I ride mostly in town but if the 1000RR is good for that then I have another option!

I rode it to the German round of MotoGP and the safety bike was another S1000RR and the HP2. If you decide to start including some canyon riding and backroads into your rides, then this is the bike to ride.

Please tell me you've ridden the Nurburgring on your bikes a bajillion times! Jealous - I'd love to do laps out there!

Sorry to disappoint you, but I have not. Took my car to the German Race Wars and went to the MotoGP twice, but never been to the Nurburgring. Trust me, I am kicking myself in the head right now. But I spend a lot of time in the dessert and most of the summers in all kinds of training with minimum time to do anything else. At least I have a 90 mile loop around my house that I do almost every day after work, grat twisties. I am stuck right now too, and once I get back I will be moving to the states again. So, I am missing the Oktoberfest, and one of biggest bike gatherings in Europe, it takes place in Cologne, Germany. As crazy as it sounds. I missed it.

I want a beemer SO badly. . I think I would like to start out with a classic, as they're not too expensive, and then just buy something stupidly fast. . .

Sign up for a safety course, who knows, you might like it. it's the most fun you can have with clothes on.
