2011 mustang GT....
soooooo i dont know if im gonna upset some oners on here but ive recently sold my 135i and bought the brand new 5.0 mustang and i must say...WOW!!! i always told myself i would never buy an american car but as soon as i drove it i was hooked. ive had the mustange now for about 2 weeks and it still impresses me everyday. i was at Palm beach international raceway this past week and an owner of a 2010 M3 wanted to race, so..... we did lol and i smoked him!! lmao and i will add the owner of the m3 was quite pissed that his $80,000 beautiful car lost to my $35,000 mustang. all i can say is great job ford you've finally done it, and to bmw....its time yet again to step up your game

Ford hit a home run (finally) with the Mustang and the new 5.0. Congrats!

That's because the reviewers were driving those cars. Perhaps this particular M3 mis-shifted or failed to shift correctly. "Smoked" is also quite subjective wording anyway---2 or 3 car lengths might be perceived as smoked, but it's only a few tenths of a second at the 1/4 mile anyway.

Ford did a great job providing a lot of performance for the buck. The real downside for me is that the interior still looks like the interior of an American car.
The Mustang GT and the E9X M3 aren't even in the same class in terms of an overall package. Of course, the price points are miles apart so they really shouldn't be. Congrats on the car. +1 for Pics. |

I love the new 5.0 in grabber blue. I would own one as well and the interior with the enhanced interior package is not bad looking at all.

I don't care if the stang is faster in a straight line and on the curves, give me the M3. You can't put a price on swagger. The M3 has swagger. The Mustang GT is commonplace performance at a bargain.

Swagger I think is partly a function of rarity, and rarity is a function of price (the higher the price of a car, the more rare it tends to be on the roads)
You're likely to see the new Mustang GT roam the streets in bulk given the price tag, but you are not as likely to see M3s and Z06s roam the streets. |

Taking nothing away from the 1. It's a great car and very unique. Now will the moderator please unban me? Just because someone appreciates a good American car doesn't mean they don't have contnued passion for BMW engine and performance technology. |

i love the m3 and i would love to own one but the united states navy doesnt pay me near enough to own one, so to own a car that has near to equal performance to me is pretty damn impressive and if that means it doesnt have "swagger" so be it...

I think the 5.0 Mustang GT is a great car, and to have performance comparable to a car that costs nearly twice as much is a testament to how great the 5.0 is in terms of value. There's no denying that. |
