ranking the most stressful metropolitan areas
#1. Detroit (is there really any surprise here?)
#2. LA (for being expensive and dirty as hell) #3. Cleveland (yay for not being #2 or #1... oh wait, I was just robbed... again) What do you guys think? http://www.portfolio.com/special-rep...opolitan-areas

Good Miami-Fort Lauderdale is on that list. I hate this place.

idk, i love living in LA. the only thing i really can't stand are the shitty, asshole drivers that make up 90% of the population. other than that, i can't really complain

I moved out of Orange County last year, and really, the drivers in LA and OC aren't all that bad compared to many other places, more often than anything, they were just inattentive, but not overly aggressive compared to other places I've driven. Oddly, LA traffic (excluding trying to get into or out of Santa Monica), when there isn't a wreck, doesn't strike me as too bad either.

In Chicago, the I-290E from the 355 to downtown is like a fucking video game.
I think "offensive" driving (as in, I've gotta get the fuck out of here as fast as I can before someone else crashes into me) was invented on that 15 mile stretch of road. I've lived and driven just about everywhere where there are "notoriously bad drivers" and the 290E is complete anarchy. At least in LA when you see some bimbo with her phone glued to her head she's driving a $150,000 car and you have some eye candy (the car, not the girl). Here in Chicago all you see while you are running for your life is some fat-ass bitch yelling at someone on the phone or turned around swatting one of her 9 fucking welfare babies. Of course there is always the thought in the back of your head where you can picture the last bit of tape that's holding one of the ground effect parts on her 1989 Astro giving way... The side skirt/wide-body fender arch combo takes one bounce off the pavement and comes right through your windsheild. She speeds off from the scene because she just isn't paying attention or her lack of insurance or in general just not giving a shit... and if you aren't dead immediatly you find yourself caught in the middle of a 40 car pile-up at 85mph. |
