This year the German GP will be held a Hockenheim as rotation every year. Last time it was the 2008 German GP when Lewis won back to back with the British GP and Timo Glock had a failed suspension and crashed into the pitwall, and brought out the Safety Car.

Hopefully we can anticipate plenty of overtake actions with the long sweep and hairpin corners.

German GP will be Bridgestone to place prime and option tires with Hard and Supersoft choices for the first and only time this season. Usually will be the next set available from 2009 and earlier, and skip one set (Supersoft and Medium).

Does anyone else miss the old Hockenheim? I think they took an awesome high speed track and cut its balls off to make what it is today. I can see how the old one could be seen as kind of boring, but it was a super high speed track which I enjoyed watching...

The old track reminds me of Monza...high speed straights with a sudden chicane...=)
the current one is not that bad either....its more into technical aspect instead....

Hamilton crashed out 10 laps into P1. But his team got the car fixed and back out for P2. Pretty impressive, since that damage looks pretty severe.

It epitomizes everything that is wrong with "modern" F1 tracks.

not as bad as the latest built Middle Eastern tracks.....and some wide "street" circuits...
