335i vs. IS350
On my home from an extremely long day from work, an IS350 tailgated me as I exited the freeway. I mean, he tailgated me...was so close to my bumper. I stopped at a red light and he came up to the right side of me. I was really tired, mind my own business and looked straight ahead. The IS350 driver honked me with a "what's up" gesture. When the light turned green he took off and blew me away as I wasn't really trying.
Okay, he got my juices flowing now. I drove a few more blocks before I caught up with him at the another red light. I looked at him this time, gave him the "let's rock" gesture, and did what all proud 335i would do in my situation...I blew his ass away when the light turned green. God damn, i love our 2nd gear. I easily pulled ahead of his ass, switched over to his lane and flashed my hazard lights..... Anyhow, just wanted to share my experience tonight. Long day at work and this really brought a smile to my face.

Those "fastest in class" advertisements Lexus had for their IS were very short lived.
Btw, on a different note, I was at a Korean market today, and noticed a brand new G35 sedan. It sure looked nice, even down to the Hofmeister kink. Very impressive exterior. |

are you sure it was a IS350? Maybe it was IS250?
I don't know how you "blew his ass away", when IS350 is doing 0-60 in 5.4s, and 335i is at 5.0~5.4s....You cant blow someone with a .1~.4 difference, or at least it does not make any sense to me, or maybe he couldn't drive Dont want to be a pain in the rear, but I would like to see point out the reality

There are confirmed 0-60 runs of 335 AT @ ~4.8. Based on magazines, real accounts, and even a Gtech Video (In only D-Mode). I believe the IS350 has a chance with a MT if the driver is a novice. But an AT? Just stomp and go! Not to mention once you hit the curves, bye bye.
None-the-less, both cars are very nice. The IS obviously has more toys and a more modern interior. Personally I do not like the rear-end of either car, but I chose the 335 for overall sportiness & mod potential, XEDE anyone?

nice kill, glad he got what he deserves
kill section is a nice thing, but unfortunatly we dont see that much threads of this kind, if more came up, i would say yaaah  oh and btw, we have the new IS300 here, with a 2JZ engine, we dont have IS350

I agree with Bronco, maybe it was a 250 if the difference was so big, nonetheless, nice kill.

Most real world IS350 times I've seen are in the upper-5 second range, whereas several real world 335 times being reported are in the high 4's.
I think by 80 or so you would have at least a car length, most likely more, even with equal drivers. |

Having owned an IS300 before, I remain a lurker on the Is300.net forum and noticed that most owners are lucky to hit high 13s in stock form and most of them are hovering in the low 14 sec mark. Not many 335s have hit the track yet, but those that have - hit mid 13s and I'm pretty certain most will be in the mid 13s range...mid 13s vs low 14s is an ugly race. Not bashing the IS350...just stating the #'s. |

Yeah, im sure that lexus overrated their performance times, while BMW is known for underrating the performance, especially in this car.
