Future BMW Spyder Stradale "Z9" envisaged
Rumors are still starting to swirl around the internet about the possibility of an R8 fighter out of Munich, one that would hark back to the eternal BMW Z8. AutoExpress has taken the time to render what the car could look like. Here we see the rendering is clearly an amalgam of the BMW 6-Series, Z4 and Hommage M1, with a very production friendly result. The car itself is based on the California Spyder concept which would be realized with EfficientDynamics in mind and a nod to some "interesting" powerplant options. The car would of course also use the latest in carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) (think BMWs partnership with SGL earlier in the year) to save on weight, and highlight alot of the new EfficientDynamics innovations making their way into road cars, such as KERS Brake regeneration as well as the possibility of an electric motor version. Don't forget, the car was designed with intent on the California market, so I would expect them to really push the EfficientDynamics boundaries forward with this car while packaging it all into one seriously cool shell You can read about the thinking behind this car and how the idea was hatched in this interesting read: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387193 Source: AutoExpress |

yes i agree. this look more of a Z8 reincarnation. just another classy looking BMW roadster. needs to look more aggressive. Mid-engined would also help. I thought the M1 homage was right on the money- even down to the "drain cover wheels".

Pontiac Solstice anyone????
That is a soft design. I would still pick the Audi based on looks. Maybe even based on performance....

lol, i liked the Z8 comment. That car was anything but a sports car. Please make something that will worry Audi, a new Z8 won't.
