If your son is buying it, perhaps I can borrow $30 bucks from him.

Thanks for the help. Really.

I ran it for a half dozen people last year when they requested one and I had an account; and I did so without any smart ass comments. I thought someone might do the same for me.

May everyone be as generous and helpful to you as you were to me. Take care.

You claimed to have processed VIN checks for dozones of people; however, I believe you volinteered out of good will and nobody forced you to do it.

Since you are so great, why don't you do your son a favor and run it for him instead of giving thumbs down remarks to other members?
Having a bad day?

He is a Carfax shareholder. The OPs request is taking food off his table...or even worse taking away from future bimmer mods.

Read the post again: I said for about a half dozen people.

I never said I thought or think that, but thank you for thinking so.

Reason I could not buy was because I was at work, and pages for purchasing on the web are blocked, or I would have. Furthermore, I wanted it for immediately after work, because that is when my son wanted to go and I wanted to help him. When/if you have a child, you might be able to understand that someday.

I only give to those who deserve it. Congrats, you are my one and only I have ever given one to.

Thank you Bill and Brandon for providing the report to me and being two of the great, helpful people on this fourm. As promised, I did not use your screen names. You were both a great help to me. May everyone be as generous and helpful to you as you were to me. Take care.

Takashi, I still wish you the same: May everyone be as generous and helpful to you as you were to me. Take care.

Not to get in the middle of this...but, some forums expressly prohibit abusing carfax. Its kinda like downloading music illegally. Someone provides a service, but they are not being properly compensated. Will I lose sleep over this? No. But Takashi's point is valid.

This thread got out of control quickly. My 0.02: Carfax isn't worth the paper it's printed on. It depends on items being reported to various sources. If it's not reported, it doesn't show up on the Carfax. I have bought three used cars, and all three used cars have had body work that was not reported on the carfax. One (the first one), was wrecked harder than the Titanic before I bought it, and nothing was shown on the carfax.

Anyways, to the OP... good luck in your car search for your son.

Save the sermons old man, the OP is being cheap and that's the end of it. A cheap person will generate a million excuses to justify his actions and put the blame on everybody else. Good going.

Wow people take this way too seriously, obviously he can afford the $30 car fax or autocheck (get the autocheck IMO), but it never hurt's to just ask

You may call it being cheap, but why pay for something when you might be able to get it for free? This happens all the time at restuarants when I have cool waiters/waitresses...they "forget" about a round of drinks or two and I feel a little more generous with the tip. Maybe not the best example but maybe you get the point.

There are worse things OP could've done other than ask for a freaking car fax...all the time people are car shopping and buy the 5 check deals and end up buying their 3rd car or whatever, they have 2 free left, why not help a fellow enthusiast out rather than just give away your money to a huge corporation without receiving services you are entitled to? (not to be mis-strewn as me hating corporations)
