WOAH that was fast! This car is really attractive to me as well. What are your reasons for choosing it over the others?

Would rather have my car than all of those... But if I had to pick one it would be the Evo X I guess.

Given your requirements, only the vettes come to mind. Either one given the '05 Z06 or the C6 would fit nicely. Both those cars will spank the competition in terms of style and performance and modding. If you added practicality, then the EVO and STI fit nicely.

LS3. I considered a Z06 before the GT3 ultimately won out for me.

Nice - I just got a 2003 TT with 20K miles. It's no GT3, but it is an amazing machine.

Those 996's were great cars. Spartan interior, and luxurious performance, just the way it should be.

Nah. A car guy is a car guy. It is funny because people talk about BMW "fanboys". I have actually seen a lot less knocking on other cars on this site than others I have been involved with.

The 335i (with some mods ) is the first Euro sports car for me. I am a car guy. So, my appreciation is for the quality the ride..and the ease to mod for great performance gains. I have been really suprised with the performance and potential with the N54 platform. I am at a little over 400 rwhp right now. Look forward to getting it in the 500-600 rwhp range.

I have found most car guys will give props and respect to models that deserve it. The Corvette fits that catergory imo.

Pretty obvious that the C5 Z06 is going to give you the biggest bang for the buck in the performance department. Those cars can make silly amounts of power real easily.

The GT500 would be my vote for style, I think they look mean and give good straight line fun around town.

THe STi and EVO are certainly good choices when considering price, performance, mod potential and practicality. I absolutely love my 2005 STi, I'll never sell it. For a daily driver my 135i is leagues better, but the STi is just a hard nosed performer with personality.

GT500. Love the classic retro style that reminded me of my Grandpa's 1965 fastback 2+2.

I would like to add....
Growing up in the 80's, these were cars I wish I had.

1986-1989 Porsche 959
1987 Buick Grand National GNX
1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans-Am (20th anniv)

Back in those years, there weren't a lot of cars in the world that could do 0-60, without mods, in just under 5 seconds, let alone under 4 seconds (A la 959).

The E46 M3 prices have tanked so much, they are becoming performance bargains. I find 60,000 mile > examples selling for under $20,000 all the time in OC.
