Torrent sites that are still good?

Many torrent sites like Mininova/ISOHunt are disappearing.
what torrent database sites do we have left that are good and reliable???
I like Demonoid but they don't have the really popular stuff.

All are private trackers which require invites and that you hold a positive download/upload ratio. But some of these trackers have everything you can possibly want or can get anything you want...

Speaking of... I have a couple invites for tvtorrents.com. This site has just about every tv show ever made and is usually uploaded before it even plays on TV. It's a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio site (don't recall) and I typically get about 2.5 meg a second down.

If you're not a homo, know how to use torrents, and like TV shows, next 3 people who post *and* pm me their email address I'll send invites.

tvtorrent invites gone, will post when I have more in a couple months.

I'll never use public trackers anymore. My friend was downloading at my place from one of the public sites and Verizon sent me an email with the exact movie title she was downloading.

So how do you guard against some of the malware these things deliver? My stepson wants a torrent on his laptop but since I just spent about 20 hours cleaning it up, I really don't want to see it on there and not be in a VM (which virtual PC would not even start a guest OS yesterday with a 1gig memory allocation).
