I feel like that's too much torque.
Me's sensing tons of wheel spin and mediocre 0-60/1/4 mile times.

^ Could be.
Kind of like the Brabus cars to a degree. Sit n Spin with lot's of blinking lights. Who knows until they come out. For some, 1/4 mile times are not the do all when considering a vehicle. I get a kick every time I see/read the guys on here pissing on each other and their cars because of a tenth here or there. Woop ta freakin doo! Last edited by gonzo; 04-16-2010 at 07:52 AM.. |

This is especially true in the 6MT vs. Auto debates. As for the GT500... they could limit the torque in certain gears the way that they do with the mazdaspeed3. |

Is this a new 5.4L based on the new 5.0 design or is it still the old 5.4L?

I'm not sure if it's 5.0L based, but it's a new block. This one's aluminium instead of cast iron, and is supposed to drop over 100lbs from the nose weight. It should mean a pretty serious improvement in handling. |

it's still the old 5.4l, but with an aluminum block instead of cast iron... the gt350 uses the new 5.0l, but it costs more to make similar hp.

The easy way out and current trend is launch control.
Before the 09's put LC in the Z06', getting it to hook up was a tire shredding experiment. Purists hate it but it is the way it's going. IMO. |

Hmm. Looks like I may have to look into trading my 05 GT.

too much power is a bad thing? oh right, this is a eurosnob forum, and we're talking about an american car, i forgot. all sense gets thrown out the window. yeah. as you approach ridiculous hp/tq levels, traction becomes an issue. that's why you buy some drag radials and take the car to the strip, where is the only place to safely use all that power... |
