Thumbs down I got a bloody ticket on Easter Sunday...

WTF? I was going 120 MPH or so and luckily slowed down cause traffic started to get thick and Bammo Lasered at 92/70.

But the cop was super cool, said he liked my car and they were only out to catch drunk drivers but still gave me a ticket for 75/70.

ALL in all he said to fight it and I can get it knocked down with no points just a $150 fine. So its all good, just goes to show you guys BE careful as speed traps/cameras/ and lasers all suck.

IN America it sucks to have a fast car as you can never use the power you have, and since I have the small ass 215 BHP engine I have hardly any power as it is and still cant use it

Yea you got lucky. Cops are always alert during holidays. 75/70 is not bad at all but 120 is fast as shit. I got clocked at 100 but the officer gave me a 90/55. I hate how the GSP is only 55. I avoided a ticket last night though. Actually I just got lucky because there was a Honda thAt blew past me going at least 100, I was going 90. An unmarked cop pulled out and was waiting to merge in front of me. Thank god I saw him/the Honda blew past me!

Ask yourself, why would someone drive 120mph and think its safe to do so? Doesn't matter how experienced of a driver you are, any variable(rock, pothole, someone cutting into your lane) could cause your ride to ram into others. A ticket is better than a statistic on a holiday weekend.

I managed to find a pretty cool Florida Highway patrolman two weeks ago.

I had just dropped my car on H&R race springs and was headed for an alignment. I almost missed a turn that always sneaks up on me, and whipped a right hand turn at 50+ mph (not smart, but the car drives like it is on rails now). After accelerating through the turn, I look up and see blue lights... Shit. As the trooper is approaching me, he runs his finger across the CF CSL bootlid. Long story short... he compliments me on my turning ability and proceeds to write me a ticket. He offers me my choice of a $266 4 point ticket for 67 in a 45 or a $10 fixit ticket for no proof of insurance... no brainer. As he is walking away, he turns around and says, "Nice car... slow down."

120...your car allows you to do 120? Ie. speed limiter

Cop was nice to you...happy easter buddy. 120 is downright dangerous.

My folks live about 250 miles south of Chicago.... so every holiday there is the requisite 500 mile round-trip that I have to make.

Cops are always thick on holiday weekends so I bump the cruise down 5-7MPH slower than I normally drive knowing that there will always be some idiot going faster to attract attention. This tactic works every time I might add.

My typical open road speed is ~80mph, but 120MPH is way_to_fucking_fast man. If you had passed me at that speed, I would have called the cops and ratted you out. I don't appreciate having my family's life endangered by moron's on the interstate. If you need to get there faster, leave earlier.

Yeah, you definitely need a laser jammer if you are going to be flying around like that and not know what is ahead of you. Hopefully you at least have a radar detector?

I would be thanking God if I got a write down like that. You got very lucky.

It is me or do you sound pissed off?

I got a ticket on New Year's day for going 5 MPH over the speed limit.

I am not really upset at the fact of it all, it was that they were out looking for drunk drivers not speeders, and I got lasered @ 92 not 120. And yes the cop was very cool, he even told me to fight it and most likely I will get it dropped down to impeeding traffic and get just a fine with NO points.

PS the roads were dead as far as traffic thats why I was cruising, and I highly doubt that the majority of bimmer owners go less than 90-100 mph on a daily basis if they use the expressway at all.

Isnt that why most of you bought your car? To have some fun with it. I should have called it I got a ticket for "spirited" driving.
