Who's going shopping on black friday?

Just wondering- I know stores open early but what time do you show up to get the good deals? I hear 5am? Some people say go the night before and hang out?? whats the real deal?

I have a tradition of going shopping on black Friday with my mom up in Manchester Vermont. They have great outlets and good deals, you don't have to go early, and it isn't too crowded. However this year I am hosting Thanksgiving dinner and there's no chance I'll mess with the DC area crowds on black Friday.

I'll be having back 2 back 2 back thanksgiving dinner from wednesday-friday........

no shopping........just eating, drinking, and playing poker!

2 years ago I went to Best Buy at the crack of dawn and there was a line. There was a special all in one printer/scanner/copier etc. on sale and they had all the boxes in the middle of an aisle... they were gone within minutes and later, as we walked through the store, people would ask us where we got them and we'd tell them they're all gone!

Not a chance in hell I'm going to the mall to fight for a parking spot and then trudge my way through the stores with people to shoulder... Especially at 5am.
