Must See!!!!!

1st. READ:
http://dailybruin.com/news/articles.asp?id=38958

2nd. WATCH:

....yesterday night @ UCLA... wow... i mean shit... maybe the guy could be less of a dumbass and just comply... but the popo were using EXCESSIVE fuqjsdlkjkfssjdf force... I mean how many stupid cops does it take to passify one guy? cuff the hands, cuff the legs, cuff the 2 cuffs together and there you go... where the hell is the guy gonna go? exactly... giving power to those who don't know how to improvise and react against an opposing force in a humane way is insanely stupid.

btw on a funny note... to the guy who got tazed... YOU NOT BERKELEY!

A cops job is never easy, but that sounds pretty darn disturbing.

...lol tazing should be in defense... not to command obedience

i think cops can taze if you have a possible weapon such as a knife, car, bat or w/e... but i dont think a bookbag counts

why didnt he just stand up and walk out like he was asked instead of being dragged out like a rag doll. He was physically capable of standing up and walking about 15 seconds after it was shut off...its not like you're in a daze for half an hour and need that long to recover from its effects.

From the article: "The student also told the officers he had a medical condition."

Maybe that's why but who knows... for someone with a condition he sure was able to shout loud after it. The most painful part of that vid is hearing a guy scream/cry like that. 2nd most painful part is seeing how dumb the cops were.

yeah... i mean you want the cops to be the good guys... but when they do something like this... specially when the guy is iranian... its pretty sad... i mean sure if the guy was a bomber we'd all be like in hindsight he should have been arrested and tazed as he was there... but since he was only a student... its kinda like wow...

According to the article,
"At around 11:30 p.m., CSOs asked a male student using a computer in the back of the room to leave when he was unable to produce a BruinCard during a random check. The student did not exit the building immediately."

I'm assuming that it is campus policy to provide student ID when using university equipment and that random checks will be conducted to assure that only students have access. No ID, no access. If the student "victim" would had left the premises as directed by the "CSO" then the campus police would had never gotten involved and no one would had been "tazed".

The disobedient kid was stupid for not complying to the cops. The cops should have been smarter about the situation and just dragged the kid away from the scene and arrested him. No reason to potentially start a riot because some kid doesn't want to stand up. At least that's the way it appears to me now knowing almost nothing about the situation.

so are you setting the "not having an ID and not leaving the computers -> being tazed" as a standard? i dont think its a fair protocol at all...

if there was a sign that said "if you dont follow UCPD, you will be tazed" i sure as hell wouldnt go on campus more than i needed to...

Those officers are such asses. Someone should tie their nuts together and taze them.

I believe that the use of tazers in this situation was too excessive and that if two "ideal" officers had handled the situation the outcome may had been different. My point is that if the student wasn't being such an ass and simply showed his id or simply leave the library then the situation would had never escalated.

wow... talk about power going to someone's head. that is the definition of excessive force. if it was just one police officer i wouldve picked up a chair and knocked the teeth outta the cop and pick up his tazer and taze him and leave the building.

guy was probably an ass, but looks like excessive force to me. the cops should have done a lot better job trying to control the situation.

In the news report, the suspect was 23 year old Mustafa Tobatabiynajob (sp?). That name sounds Indian/Middle Eastern to me, so maybe he was yelling about the Patriot Act to try to garner guilt and get off the hook. His screaming/crying was pretty pathetic. And even though he kept saying he would leave, he didn't seem to want to do anything besides yell at the top of his lungs. Granted, he may have had a medical condition as he claimed, but that sure didn't stop him from screaming and kicking like a child.
