Condiment Packets at Drive-Thrus

I thought this would be a somewhat interesting topic for discussion here.

I know that there is a recession on... and businesses are trying to save a buck wherever they can. But this one has been going on for far too long (even before the recession).

If you as the drive-thru (why do we spell it like this?) attendant ask me if I would like some condiments (ketchup/mayonnaise/fire sauce, etc) and I say "yes", then you proceed to give me 3-4 packets I have no one to blame but myself.

But!

If you ask me if I want some condiments and I say: "Yes can I get a LOT (extra emphasis) of fire sauce" or "Yes, can I get 8-10 packets of fire sauce." Give me the FUCKING sauce. Even if I hadn't said I wanted a lot please at least use your head. How the fuck am I supposed to split three packets of sauce between 4 tacos and 2 quesadillas? Or how am I expected to adequately distribute 2 packets of ketchup across two extra large orders of french fries?

I can't tell if people are just being complacent and not really listening when I ask for lots of sauce, or if the store manager tells them that they can only distribute 1 packet per item ordered, or what?

I've also had people who act like complete smart-asses in the other direction and litterally give me 30 packets of sauce, but I just save them and use them for when I'm left with dealing with the stingy drive through attendant from scenario A.

Anyone else take issue with this?

They're working the drive through at a fast food joint. Literally... spell it out for them or expect it to be wrong, THEN double check your order.

I find that it varies depending on the attendant. Sometimes I get two packets of ketchup with medium fries, sometimes I get no ketchup, but then last week I was given six packets. It seems like they don't really think about it unless you ask very specifically.

they are instructed to give you less then required by the management. Its free to you, but someone has to pay for those fire sauces

I know, but its not like I'm ordering 1 taco and requesting 15 packets of sauce.

If you spend $20 at taco bell, that's a hell of an order for 1 car. You'd think that they'd be a little more lax on their policy at that point and give me what I've clearly made a special point to ask for.

Reminds me of a day a group of us were out bowling and stopped by McDonalds and had 4 regular meals. I asked for a lot of ketchup and they literally gave us no more than 6 freakin ketchups! wtf!?

Hahah...that's why I always go inside taco bell. I always get two double decker tacos when I go there, and I put 4 packets of fire sauce on each. I get so pissed when I go through the drive-thru and say "can i get a whoooooole bunch of fire sauce, like, lots of it" and they give me 3 packets.

It's to the point where I give them an exact number of sauces I need and when the food is handed to me, I count the sauces.

Tacos - 2 apiece
Burritos - 4
Quesadillas - 5

Nothing worse than getting home with a fat/PHAT Carne Asada Burrito, No Guacomole, Add sour cream, rice, and beans to find that you only have 2 sauces. Ruins the whole experience!

If I happen to get breakfast at McD's, and add a medium coffee, I always ask for 4 creams and 1 equal. I normally end up going back for 2 more creams, and leave 15 equals on the table. Unless I'm there to receive it in my hands, then I pluck one equal and get more creams.

I just ask for ketchup, check how many they gave me and if its not enough,I ask them for more. I repeat this process until I get as many as I want. Sometimes they seem annoyed by this but I think it gets the poing across...lol

Got to Germany. The ketchup packets are on the menu. Order (and pay for) as many as you want.
