My new posting Machine! (Mac)
So it isn't a 335, but it is a big deal to me! I am trying to get into Marketing with Apple, and I had the 2300 saved up so I bought myself a new computer! I love BMW, but to me it comes second only to Apple! When I was showing it to my old man tonight he said he would pay for it since I would be using it for school the most! So now I have an extra 2300, guess it is going to go towards something for my 3! I am upgrading for A G4 dual 1.42 if any other mac people in here and a 867 Mhz powerbook (12"). This puppy is going to replace both of them! I had been waiting for the core 2 duo and It finally came out!
My new toys specs 2.33 Core 2 duo 3GB DDR2 160 HDD 6x superdrive and a "n" wireless card Edit: 256MB x1600 (nice card) Macbook pros have a bunch of other cool stuff standard, (like and iSight camera, Ir remote control, Sudden motion sensor, bunch of other goodies) (That is my girlfriends 15" powerbook on the left) My new posting Machine!!! that is funny, i just got mine last thursday!! i only got stock 2.16ghz version though. this is my 9th pro laptop from apple and i've been always customizing them and getting the high-end models and then, a year later, i had to sell them $1,000 or more cheaper. so, since i know i'm going to upgrade to a new one in less than a year, i just went for the cheaper one this time.
but dude, i upgraded from 1.67ghz pb g4 and when i now compile webkit (web engine powering safari), it takes just a little over 15 minutes while my powerbook took almost 45 minutes! that's a world of a difference to me! go core 2 duo, go!!!

Congrats man!!! Use it well!!!
Ths New Dell "Vista" Laptop Vs the Macbook pro decision is ABSOLUTELY KILLING me. I still don't know a) which way to go b) Whether or not to wait for Vista/Leopard or just upgrade when released... So many pro's and cons to both. The MB Pro, by the way...after you count in buying office(a must for me, the warranty, etc, etc...is WELL over 3g's... Did you get the Glossy screem or the regular one? Does the N card come standard? |

Ah, ADC purchase eh? Hope you stocked up on all sorts of other goodies since its a one time purchase.
I am planning on going ADC too, but I'll just wait till I need multiple computers and just grab a MBP, iMAC, and who knows what else. MBP Core Duo here getting the job done, but just barely as I'm sure the c2d is much faster. |

Question is... why did you get the 160GB hard drive instead of opting for the 100 GB faster 7200 RPM drive? And do you think the extra 1GB of RAM (to 3 GB) was worth the extra $500+ ?
I ask because my 2.33 core 2 duo / 2 GB / 100GB 7200 ..etc.. is on order currently....as im typing on my 2.16 core duo that I am taking a bath on but worth it to upgrade to the new one!!!

Oh and, I didn't pay the 460 that the developer store says for the 3GB option. I payed closer to 300. It is all about who you know! You are already upgrading?? The core 2 duo isn't a huge jump! I wouldn't have! I would have waited for the next update! |

Are they going to make a MB Pro smaller than 15"??
My Dell is acting up....might be time to switch over, but I do not really like the black/white MB....and I was hoping to get a smaller, more portable machine.

congratulation...I think you have stiff competition with that cat. I would keep a close eye on the cat and if you laptop disappeared, you know who to look for.
I like the sudden motion sensor, but question its affectiveness because no one really want to drop their brandnew laptop to test it out but the concept behind it makes sense and the drive head is protected when there is movement in the laptop. Did i mention i like the cool magnetic cable as well. Now I know who to ask if I have questions on mac... |

Also...Let's say I buy the MB Pro and then decide I'm not a fan and want to go back to a dell. How bad a hit would I take selling the MBP on Ebay, say, 3-6 months out? |
