Susan G Komen Ultimate Drive cancelled?

I can no longer find any information on bmwusa.com for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Ultimate drive? I missed it last year, as I moved out west and the event already took place. I figured since its warm in the winter in AZ the event registration would be starting soon, but I can't find any information?

Has this event been cancelled? (I can imagine so with all the liability and the abuse those cars took)

i called BMW NA they had no information and referred me to their charity phone number which is just a tape recording referring you to their charity website. i also found the event on Susan Komen's Breast Cancer website and says active in 2009 and jumps to a broken bmwusa link.

i think this event may no longer exist - can you say Recession.

This event is no more, i forget the exact reasoning behind it but we found out a couple months ago that they were parting ways.

BMW and SGK cancelled the UD campaign last year and probably this year as well. the recession had a lot to do with it as this program, while very worthy, its a huge cost drain. the last year was 2008 and i remember that many of the cars were flogged so bad, they werent as fun to drive. the 2 manual cars they had in their fleet, the M3 and the Z4, went thru a TON of clutches and were constantly pulled out for repairs.

BMW cancelled in 2009 and apparently not to continue until economy recovers...
we had a thread when they just announced last year...

from someone that contacted me from the Susan G Komen foundation:

There is a slight chance that some local BMW Centers (dealerships) may host some one-off local events (not the nationwide tour as in years past) to benefit local Komen Affiliates, but I don’t have that information at Susan G. Komen for the Cure headquarters. Please feel free to check with your local BMW Center(s) directly to see if they have anything in the works in your local area.
