Toyota puts out TURBOcharged FT-86 G Sport Concept car at Tokyo Autosalon
Damn are we actually looking at a lightweight turbo RWD sports car?!
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=306 Toyota better not screw that that thing up when it comes to production!! This thing could have lots of potential. |

damn, perhaps toyota really is serious about this car after all LOL! I want to see the subaru version now
The GPS-track day data sounds so gimmicky but really neat at the same time haha. |

Something really bothers me when i look at that car, its the toyota badge. Everytime I see one I think "Camry". That badge must be removed.

Interesting. More competition in that segment is always good. I'm more interested to see if Subaru comes out with a vehicle on the platform since it's being co-developed. I canonly imagine what the hood would look like if it becomes misaligned or someone were to purchase a crappy carbon fiber hood (which I'm sure will be happening with this vehicle).
I like the Hyundai. It's a great progression of the Tiburon.

Looks like a factory stock ricer
Reminds me of a 370z somehow.

I think they were trying to hard with the racer boi aggressive look. I think they need to re-think their performance exterior and stop trying to outdo every other aggressive exterior design they see.
Be original, enough of the fast and the furious.

Yeah it's a solid car I just think it gets a bit awkward at the front.
And wow this Toyota gets better looking every time I look at it. I really really like the design. I wonder how much will change for the production version. If they keep it close to this it'll sell very well. Convertible version would be nice too.

I doubt this will have a 2L in the US, seeing as it's a Subaru engine and Subaru only uses the 2.5L turbo engine here now. Although I wouldn't mind the JDM 2L STi engine. Would they really use the old 227hp 2L WRX engine?
That'd be great if the Subaru version was just an STi coupe, kind of like the old 22B. |
