Clem's e39 M5 gets the steroid treatment - ESS S/C
Hey all,
Adam (Clem) finally stepped up to the plate (didnt take long since he got the car :redspot) and ordered the ESS super charger kit for his beautiful M5. The car already put down a 12.92 at 108mph at MIR this fall w/ only a shark injector and Billyboat rear section. It also put down 337whp last week at the local dynojet.  We tore into the car yesterday for the 1st time after Adam sent off his ECU to Norway to get reflashed on Friday. Its game time! I'm pumped for this car to enter the F/I world as i know he is :buttrock. ================================================== ==== its a good looking kit from the start, this is apparently not the 1st itteration as they have made a few hardware and cosmetic changes. It uses a Vortech V3 w custom bracket, upgraded injectors, new intake, and remaps the ECU to run off of throttle position rather than the 2 MAF's the e39 uses in its twin intakes. here is a pic of one installed on ESS's website  ok here we go: ECU removed  Our work space before we started, its a disaster at this point  Love this engine   New injectors, not sure what lbs.  new thingies  intake pipe pre- SC  Billet crank pulley for SC   DV on the charge pipes  the best part    Ok air filter boxes are off  Adam pulling the bumper bolts out  its off.....ok where to put an intercooler :devillook  Pulling the fan and crank pulley  Pulley is out and new pulley added on.....remounting  the Ranger makes a great work/storage area lol  yummy  Intake apart showing the 8 throttle bodies  Plenum removed  My work buddy doin its thing  Fuel rail and injectors removed, new ones ready to go in  Custom spacer for the fuel rails......its 3 washers w electrical tape....:shifty  New injectors on one bank are in!  We called it quits for the 1st day at this point. Adam just finishing up, we all needed to rest our backs at this point  And my poor car watching while the M5 gets all the attention  MORE TO COME!! I'm off to Assateague island to duck hunt for the next 2 days and I expect Adam will finish up the other injectors while i'm gone at the least. I'll update as possible
