Anyone a Doctor? Bone sticking out

So about a month ago everyday I woke and stretch and hear my breast bone crack, It didn't hurt so I didn't think much of it. But I noticed about 2 weeks ago that my breast bone in the very middle of my chest is now stick out (about 3 inches above my nipple, in the middle of my chest) Now it somewhat hurts when Im lifting or bend my body in certain situations. It feels gross and I have no idea how it happened? Can anyone tell me how this happened or what I can do about it? Thanks

Rather than try to have an internet answer based on a description, maybe visiting a doctor in person would be safer.

Already have, I swear most doctors have no idea what there talking about. 1 doctor just told me its always been there, I just haven't noticed it..Which is completely false. And one said I might of ripped my cartilage open and now my bone sticks through, but he was just guessing..He's never seen it before.

Sounds like you may have broken your Xiphoid Process(dont let the dr.jay fool you its a nickname, I'm not a doctor) my friend did this a couple years ago in a car crash, I would get a X-ray or an MRI asap, according to him it was pretty painful. Doctors never did anything for him and now it protrudes out farther than his chest, it looks like he has a tennis ball implanted in there. I hope this helps.

Know what you need?

Acai... it'll fix that shit right up.

Go to the ER. Don't tell them you've seen a doctor before... just say you woke up and there was this thing sticking out of your chest and it hurts....

It is not that given the location of the injury, the xiphoid is in the midline, connected to the sternum. He was complaining about an injury in what sounds like the midclavicular line, or the middle of his left/right pectoral. It sounds like an injury to your costochrondral joint, or the meeting of the cartilage of your sternum to a rib, particularly a separation of this joint. It's very hard to say exactly what it is without examining you, but that seems like the likely culprit to me. It's not a particularly common injury, and usually is associated with some sort of trauma to the chest. Any hard hits to the chest lately?
And yes, see a doctor.
