drink drink!
So why do you guys drink alcohol? Social drinking? Cuz everyone else is? You like being drunk/buzzed? You like the taste? You like the comradery? Me personally I drink to get that good buzz which puts me in a state where I'm pretty much down for anything and have no problems approaching people and also to relieve the tension I would say. Reason for pregaming before clubbing too!

Who said anything about drunk driving? Lost my grandfather that way and I would prob know better than a lot of people what kind of problems that causes. I always make sure it's a DD i can trust before I drink but I'm just curious why people drink.

I rarely drink..
more of a social drinker.. one glass of port or a rum and coke if the setting "demands" it. I stay away from drunk driving.. I had to do it once for a few blocks... NEVER AGAIN. I avoided all main streets, I took all inside streets... the designated driver got hammered.. he gave me his keys cuz I was the least drunk. so I don't drink anymore. All because I knew what might have happened. I'm always the designated driver, even if I'm not. I don''t run the risk..

I rarely drink at social occasions any more.... mostly because I don't go to clubs/bars, etc. hardly at all these days except for the random 30th birthday/NYE, etc...
I'll have a drink or two with dinner if the wife and I go out, or if we're just chilling at home on a Saturday night, but beyond that... quite frankly, I don't have the energy any more. I can't stand feeling all groggy and slow the next day, it bothers me a bit more than it used to. I guess I'm just getting old. |

All of the above. I love good alcohol or a great beer. I have a great grasp on my drinking habits. I can socially drink and just have a drink or 2 and stop or I can throw them back with the best of them but I try to avoid it unless its an occasion that calls for it. I too am sick of waking up and being groggy and feeling like shit.

True, alcohol royally F**** up your body.
I've been drinking a little too much lately. I used to be pretty jacked but I've kind of let that slide. Damn Red Stripes are killing my abs... What do I drink? Beer: Killians, Stella, Red Stripe ....oh and White Russians. Hell yes.

To "let my hair down" (I'm bald) Soemtimes it's the fun of a buzz, the extra laughter. Sometimes I just like to have a nice Scotch with my brother in law. A hot Sake or 2 on a Friday sushi binge helps me get ready to deal with parents on the sideline while I ref games on Saturday.
Best regards, Wede |

I too wonder why people drink. I have never drank before, not even a sip, but have nothing against it. I guess I just dont feel the urge to and I never wanted to screw up my wrestling career, but I always wonder why people like to do it so much.
Some interesting answers on here. |

If they put nutritional info on beers, I'm sure that'd scare me enough to not drink as much. |

I drink socially for fun. I mean we have football getogethers all the time and you pretty much have to drink there. If I go to a party I'll have a few drinks or if I'm at home and feel like kicking back I will crack open a beer or two. What I really, really hate is getting fucked up. I mean you get damn drunk and end up yacking in the bathroom and wake up all hungover and shit. I just don't see the point in that...anymore...
Hard liquor is especially worse- after a crazy night just the thought of hard liquor makes me wanna puke. |

Because beer pong is fun as hell, and I really like the taste of whiskey. I try not to get trashed anymore, it's gotten a bit old. I turn 21 in two days though, probably gunna make an exception for that.

Good beer is good.
Bud Light was OK in my college days when the goal was to get smashed on a budget, and do it often.... But now I find myself actually finding beers that taste good, and looking into their particular brewing process and ingredients. Maybe I'm just getting old? |
