Used Cars Under 18k.

Hi everyone i have 2 cars Benz (which will be replaced by a e92 after the lease) and my work car civic hb 99.. I think im going to give my civic to my parents so im going to need a used car for driving to work and using it for long Vegas trips or anything that im going to put to much miles on.

Im not a car expert what so ever so thats why i ask you guys. what should i look into?

I want either 4cyl or 6cyl
Nice clean looking car for the price im wiling to pay (18k)
Fast if possible, rwd or awd if possible, and above 200hp.
2dr coupe or sport sedan is fine not a HB again though.

Ive thought about the 2001 s4 but have heard that its very unreliable and $$ to fix. So a nice reliable car is a must and if i have to pay $$ to get things replaced they will last me a long time, if i bought a car that had 80k miles and i had to put in 2k and it would last me until 140k no problems its well worth it...

Thank you everyone..

have you driven an is300 before? it's a nice reliable car but still very fun to drive. it isn't very luxurious but it is a 4 dr so it's practical.

IS300 would also be my choice

Alternates: G35 sedan, WRX, and Legacy

The IS will feel the most refined on the freeway

Subaru Legacy GT. 250hp with as much torque, AWD, beefy 5spd, 0-60 under 6s, and very good built quality. A 05 model with less than 20k miles can be had for $18k. You can't get more car for your money than that.

The E36 M3 is a money pit, and the IS300 is slow as a pig (and the clutch is a b!tch). I've owned both of them.

I think the IS300 is a piece of crap also. A lot of my friends have them, and I have had plenty of seat time, and they can't seem to do anything well.

I am sure you are going to get a lot of opinions on here. In general, people are going to have different perceptions of a cars attributes, so make sure you drive a few cars to see what you like
