EVO's Top 100 Drivers Cars of All Time
Some interesting entries. A handful of Bimmers make the list, unfortunately no higher than 26th. The only current production BMWs are E92 M3 and E60 M5.

Z4 M is way more of a drivers car than a M3 so its weird its not on the list.
Some awesome cars on the list and some just make me think wtf?

At its time it had one of the best chassis and handling characteristics for a FWD car. It also produced over 100HP per 1L displacement and revved to 8k using a NA engine, which I think was only seen in the Modena up to that point. (from memory - but someone correct me if I am wrong).

Yes, this list is fail. EVO is usually good but this list kind of sucks.

Maybe you missed the two Renaults at number 5 and 7, both fwd. It sort of makes a mockery of all those guys on forums saying that only rwd cars are the most enjoyable, or the best handling.

+1 +1 +1...and at the same time, alot of totally undeserving cars on that list as well... ...it appears we have to take yet another automotive review with a basketball-sized grain of salt . and the fact that they even considered the e60 M5 a "driver's car" and excluded so many other far more capable and driver-involving cars is laughable. just b/c you give a boat 500hp doesn't demote it from "boat" status. oh well...even magazine editors are entitled to opinions i suppose.

Agreed that no way that deserves Top 5 status, except for the fact that its FWD and handles surprisingly well. Also, be aware they're not talking about the regular R26, it's the R26.R, which handily beats the 335i around the Nurburgring. Still, top 5? 35 spots higher than the Atom? No, I don't think so.
My impression is that the list could instead be titled "our favorite cars that we and other car writers drool over." Some for their directness, some for their power, some for their uniqueness, like the R26.R. For the most part, it's a list of pretty cool cars, though.

Each car on this list is there for a number of reasons, maybe emotional, how it makes you feel while driving (i.e MX5) or simply for the way the thing does what it does (i.e.GTR). I totally 'get it' with a lot on this list, though at the same time I can fully understand why so many of you are not. |

How the hell is the Gallardo there when the F430 isn't? It should be on the list and definitely ahead of the Gallardo.

agreed. that being said though, they should have just titled the article "top 100 pretty cool cars" instead of "top 100 driver's cars of all time." at least they might have retained some credibility as writers and editors that way...b/c i see several cars on that list that, were this a true list ranking driver's cars, wouldn't even be in the top 500.
