Why didn't you get a Hummer H3?
I love my mother in law, but she still never ceases to amaze me at how clueless she is about cars. We were out running errands recently and I pointed out an e90 we passed to her so she could see what the car I had ordered looked like. I didn't expect her to be impressed or anything, but I was shocked when we passed an H3 a few minutes later and she said that's what I should have ordered.
I wanted to explain to her that an H3 is an overweight, underpowered, gas guzzling, tarted-up Colorodo pickup truck that could never dream of being considered a good, let alone great, handling car...but I was really too shocked to say anything. She's old & set in her ways, so I knew that there was no way I could make her understand, so I just mumbled something about it "not being my style".

LMAO.
My almost 4year old son is currently in love with the H2 and H3. So much so, that he bugs his mom every day about it.

My senial grandma thought that "hummer" was the nickname for BMW. I took several times telling her for her to catch on that it was a bimmer

I test drove the H3 before ordering my 330xi. I liked many things about the truck, EXCEPT the fact that it is absolutely dog slow. It has an inline five cylinder engine - way too small for a truck that size and weight. The gas mileage was bad, but not as bad as the Dodge Ram I was replacing, so that wasn't as much of an issue.
As for handling, it would be good off road, but due to the absolutely dog sluggish motor, was useless anywhere else. If it came with a bigger motor, it may have been a contender to replace my wife's current Isuzu Rodeo. As it stands, though, it's way off the list. Brien |

the only good thing i have to say about the hummer is the commercial they played at the last superbowl (monster + robot = H3).

She probably wants her grandkids to be driven around in a tank (or at least some paramilitary poseur!)
Can't wait until you pass a Toyota FJ Cruiser next time. |

This just shows that GM is succeeding in their marketing efforts. Why does the American public continue to love large SUV's and trucks so much? Such a waste. I cannot believe how many tahoe/escalade/expedition/navigators I see each morning commuting with one person in the car.

Particular junk to me is the H3 -which is just a rebadged GM truck(SUV?). At least the H2 is a specific built vehicle. I've ridden and driven one and they are nice for what they are. If I had to climb a mountain - then yes. Not as a daily drive.

Not that it matters seeing it's an American pile of crap that I would never own, but the H2 is built on the Suburban platform. And the H1 is the one that started life with the military?
