First real world photos of new Infiniti G35
Although overall design hasn't changed much from curren model, Infiniti has added lots of little details to further refined the design. The result, in my opinion, is much sophisticated lines and upscale look.
Check the new bulging lines on the hood and wide front stance. Here are some quick review by Car & Driver on new G35. http://www.caranddriver.com/cartrims...g35_sedan.html Highs New exterior styling will offend no one, ample thrust, telepathic steering, world-class gearbox, a rare sports machine with a soul. Lows Long brake pedal, newness difficult to see at a glance, ride and refinement still trailing BMW's perfection. Behind the Wheel With a manual gearbox and sport package the G35 makes you do bad things. Capsule Review Its difficult to improve on a comparison test and 10Best winner, but Infiniti has done it. Much like the BMW 3-series that it constantly chases, the new G35 has added a bunch of small improvements and enhancements. Basically, Infiniti didn't mess up the good things they had going in the G35. |

I really don't dig the changes -now both the outside front shot and the inside look like the M35/45, and from my perspective that is not a compliment.
The center console does nothing for me and the screen on the navi is glare prone (as evidenced by the pic itself). I wonder if Infinity did anything to make the seats better ? |

I like it better than the E90 on a size level and also because its different. I know it wont be better than the E90 but if it can reach 20/30 mpg rating I might consider one.

Like my 350Z it has the seat heater buttons on the center console where it still serves as an arm rest (when you're not using the cup holders). Incredibly annoying to accidentally bump those things on. Maybe these are up farther though...

The main problem I've experienced is that I (and others on various forums) had issues with the front tires cupping repeatedly after 5k-10k miles. Complaining to Nissan gets laughable excuses about "the front tires are only supposed to last that long", to "it's because the tires aren't balanced". Although it's most likely due to misalignment, particularly the 'toe'. Anyway, after aligning and spending $600 for new front tires last year, mine is doing it AGAIN after about 10k miles. Sooo...I'm currently selling the Z and will be ordering a 335i in January. (Waiting til after the chance of snow since I'm getting sport package which comes with summer tires and has to serve as a daily driver too) If I had to do it again, I'd probably have gotten a G35 at that time (2004) as the G has a rear seat, an actual usable trunk, and much nicer interior. Now I'll be going with a 335i sedan Last edited by drcain; 08-21-2006 at 11:27 PM.. |
