Invitation to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix - July 17-19
In 2009, BMW will be the featured Marque of the Year for the Pittsburgh
Vintage Grand Prix. The PVGP's Schenley Park race is the only vintage race in the US which takes place on city streets. The course winds through a golf course and 120 year old park. The course is a direct throwback to the early 1950's with trees, stone walls and hay bales. The event draws usually draws 2500 show cars of all makes. As BMW is the Marque of the Year, the Allegheny Chapter of the BMW CCA has planned a full 10 days of BMW activities to Celebrate the event. We invite everyone to join us for our tour to Nemacolin Woodlands/Falling Water on Friday July 17th and our car corral and lunch in Schenley Park on July 18th -19th. We expect several hundred cars to participate in the show at Schenley. Highlights will include the largest collection of pre-war BMWs in the US this year, a large collection of 2002s and early coupes, a Heritage Display of historic BMW race cars and a vintage BMW Marque Race through the streets of the park. The full event runs from July 10-19th. Some of the other events we have planned include a driver's school and club race at BeaveRun and several other car shows. Special BMW rates are available at the Greentree Radisson (800-333-3333). Our event is open to all BMW owners. We hope to see you in July!
