I guess the first thing to ask is: "what are your stats in college, DAT (if you have already taken it), and extracurricular activities?" That would dictate where you can go.

So the requirements that are important to you, in looking for an institution to pursue an advance education are: cheap, easy to get into, and offers you money to go there?
Just go into a different profession and tell mommy/daddy that you will no be going to dental school.

dental is one of those profession that it really does make a difference where you went to school i don't suggest you cheap out on a crappy school because you most likely won't make it big then. It's like med school you spend a crap load of money in school and then you plan on paying it back because you "Assume" you will make a lot of money..

my bad, scholaship.
yea this isn't a firm decision but 80% sure. I haven't even taken the DAT's because I have international business degree and would need to take all of the science classes before applying for schools. I guess I have few years to decide lol

Dental schools are not easy to get into Generally, most dental schools require these classes: * 1 year of biology with lab * 1 year of General Chemistry w/ Lab * 1 year Organic Chemistry w/ Lab * 1 year of English * Other biology classes like genetics, anatomy, physiology, histology If you go to a semester school, two semesters = 1 year. If you go to a quarter school, three quarters = 1 year. Most dental schools want students with a 3.5 GPA or higher. I am doing dental school in India starting September, I'll be done in four years, then I'm going to come to the states and do two or three years. Dental school is going to cost total $70K for four years Oh yeah, take at least 5-7 months off and study hardcore for the DAT. If you have a high DAT score, more schools with take you. But if it is low, don't even apply, just re-take the test. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/forumdisplay.php?f=55 Best forum for pre-dental students... |

i don't know how dental schools work but all medical schools in the US are QUALITY medical schools, no such thing as a bad school, just some with more prestige than others. |

ROFL, he even took the time to bold it. I was pre-med then pre-dent. To the OP, if you're going to the field just for the money...I highly doubt you will even last through your undergrad with classes like organic chem, embryo, genetics, etc. being required.
All it took was a week of internship at my dentist's practice to change my mind about wanting to become a dentist. |

That is definitely not true. There are crappy schools in the US that you want to avoid like the plague.

OK...can you please name me a U.S. medical school that is less than adequate? I would think that nearly all medical schools would be required to have standards that graduate highly competent PHYSICIANS.

You are being too optimistic in our medical education. It's merely a business for a lot of schools. Also, there are scary people in every medical school class that you want to alert your loved ones to avoid them at all costs.
