Work Out Supplements
What kind of supplements are you guys taking...I usually take some whey protein, but am not sure if creatine would be more effective. I don't believe that creatine is safe for your body, though. What are your thoughts?

I took N.O.-Xplode for a while. It does what it says, though it may be the caffeine and the sugar giving you the boost, while psychologically you're also motivated to do extra reps.
In any case, it has some creatine in it, retaining water (could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your build and goals). I've finally landed on not taking any supplements, and eating a lot of chicken breast without the skin (roughly 34g protein and 6g of fat). If I were to go back to any supplement, it'd probably be a multi-vitamin.

No need for supps. They are pretty much worthless if you ask me. Just get yourself some good food, lean ground beef has all the creatine that you need in it. If anything get some flax seeds and grind them up in a coffee bean grinder and throw them in your yogurt or milk or something.
I am curious as to which brand of whey is the best. I need to do some research on that. I'd like to start making peanut butter/oats/whey shakes to add in some extra cals and protein into my diet. Also creatine is naturally produced by your body (I'm sure you already knew this just throwin it out there), so yeah it is safe for your body, in the right amounts. However you don't need any extra. |

+1. You don't need take supplements if you're just getting in shape or tone up. The food you eat should give you enough nutrients to rebuild muscles so you're fine. Now if you're body building then by all means take them.

No-xplode whey protien People who hate on supplements are usually in bad shape Obviously its possible to achieve results with no supplements but you have to be extremely strict with what you eat and must eat the right portions everyday

1. Whole foods - fresh, nutrient rich, preferably organic
2. Learn nutrient timing 3. Mineral rich water (mineral deficient water will dehydrate you) 4. Sleep/rest according to circadian rhythm 5. Stress reduction 6. Supplementation - consider the following: BCAAs Creatine Glutamine Whey Protein (Jay Robb's or Jarrow's - must others are trash) Beta Alanine Realize that supplements will only be fruitful if your diet and lifestyle are in order. The supplement biz is big $$$, and there are lots of BS products out there. Check the label before you buy. |

I'm sort of a hardgainer, meaning I don't gain weight easily. So basically what I am trying to do is eat as much as I can, without so much regard as to WHAT I eat. I'm looking to bulk up.
Combined with the extra supplements, working out, and a whole lot of food I hope to gain at least 20 lbs this summer. I look toned and everything, just need that extra "mass". Thanks for the suggestions guys. |

You could also try animal pak. It gets great reviews from my customers who try it. Good luck

Vitamins after exercise or before exercise is bad for you.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8043456.stm Most important thing before or after exercise is eating and taking a dump. |

What does it mean if I have pain in my arm bone - mid ulnar bone. Only have the pain when I do bicep curls and stuff like that.
Wrong technique, too much weight? Should I rest it? |

there are a lot of supplements out there too buy. rule number one is never buy anything that is GNC brand. it all sucks.
if your looking to put on weight i suggest taking creatine. it will help your body hold more water and it seems to make me more hungry. i take Cell Mass. its not a heavy dose of creatine by any means and it is a good creatine supplement to start on. if your also looking for a protein/weight gainer i would recommend either True Mass or Muscle Juice. both are very good. I use muscle juice because it mixes much thinner and tastes great. if you are just looking for a straight whey protein i would recommend syntha-6 or freak fix if you want it in the powder form. and if you want the pre-made drinks nothing can beat muscle milk or myoplex. as for NO xplode... when i used to take it i felt it made me more focused and made me lift harder. i stopped taking it because i have high blood pressure so i tried to cut the caffeine out of my diet

You don't need creatine and NOExplode. Just use NOExplode if you are feeling tired that day and just need an extra boost. If you use NOExplode all the time you'll build up a tolerance to it. Make sure you eat clean, and eat the right things after you work out. After work out most important thing you need is quick carbs (gatorade and white pasta) and then when you're done getting that down eat some lean ground beef. Don't eat shit. Avoid fats after workout at all costs. If you want to go with a weight gainer get some CytoGainer. |
