Why does everyone loves porsches SOO much they all look exactly the same unless its $200,000 and up. Ill prepare to be flamed but its the truth and you all know it. I never know whether its a carrera, cayman, targa 4s, carrera S, all look to similar in my eyes.

I just love the Carrera GT and the fact that every single one is modified.
The rest of the everyday porsches = meh

because the performance makes up for it and the true p-car enthusiasts are able to distinguish the [minor] differences.

here's a good view of the progression of the 911 over the years. I still love the old ones.

I'm not going to flame you...

I don't think many of us here go nutz over a garden variety porsche like a boxter or plain carrera, even though they are wonderful driving machines. However, when the P-car is a GT1,2,3 or a turbo, obviously Carrera GT, or something like a 959, those machines represent the pinnacle of Performance luxury automobiles. And will always be an object of lust for me.

I'm assuming you cant decipher a M3 from a 328?
Or a 3 series from a 6?

^No i definitely can but i shit you not everyone of those cars have to many lines in common. All headlights look the same, the roundness of the car looks the same to me W.E maybe im crazy. I understand they are good performing cars, but its just sad that a ZR1 cant stomp on all of them and its a 1/4 of the price

First off, a qtr of the price of what? No in-production Porsche costs that much. Your point just doesnt hold water, A $20,000 evo with an upgraded turbo will rip apart the Zr1 in a drag race, and would be comparable-if not better on a road course. Take a step down from the evo, buy a beat ass civic with 100,000 miles for a couple grand, invest more in the motor than in the car, and your running 9 second passes in the qtr mile. Many "cheaper" and "lesser" cars can and will out perform more expensive rides.

i was browsing 6speedonline.com this morning and came across this stunning rolling shot of a flawless 996 Turbo...it appears to have a Tech Art front bumper and a 996 GT2-style wing:

also, here another 996 Turbo, this time with a little JDM flare :

Once you have a P-car of your own, you will start looking at details of each individual carrera and will be able to identify which is a carrera, carrera S, 4S, and so forth.

Own one and get to drive it any day you want and you'll forget all that nonsense. You'll join a long history of race-oriented cars and won't give a rat's ass what it looks like to other people. Instead you'll be grinning constantly as you toss the thing into the corners. And you won't care at all if a ZR1 stomps you. Because you have a higher calling
