So, I see a few OT threads on various other music types which is really cool but I wonder if anyone else here is into a mellower variety. So, if you are one, feel free to contribute here. I like to make this thread a place to exchange tips on artists, new releases, free D/L sites, etc.

So to start this off, I like to give out something free to everyone. I do my own mixes sometimes for listening in the car, at work or while working out. In the old days, when I had the time, patience and the know-how, it would be a more professional mix with proper fade out/ fade in, a few beats thrown in here or there, etc. Now, it's more like a continuous mix tape. For me, the selection, tempo and groove are lot more important than slick production. So, I hope the Pro's amongst us here will be more forgiving.

"DDL Distant Affection" is a mix I have made recently. It starts slow and picks up pace as it progresses. You can D/L it at the link below. If you do not have a rapidshare account, use "Free User" option. You may have to wait a few seconds and D/L speed will be slower normally.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The mix is not chopped into separate songs on purpose. The continuity of listening experience is pretty important in a mix, IMO.

What mixing? I only used a MP3 joiner. Add songs and hit the "Merge" button

Actually, I am looking into some programs. I need to find a verstaile yet easy to use one. I downloaded and installed Audacity but have not have a chance to mess w/ it yet.

Any suggestions/ recommendations?

you can still chop your mixes... the continuity is still there if your computer isn't from the 90s. there is usually little or no gap between mp3s played on a playlist.

i have a couple of mixes that have been chopped... and i think its better especially if you wan't to return to a good song. take for example girl talk... they chop their songs.
