Sick..Sick...Sick. Its a complete bargain at 31k. Hell even at 34k its a bargain.
0 to 60mph in 4.6sec 0 to 100mph in 10.5sec 13.0@111mph thru the quarter. Intake/Headers/Exhaust and this car will never see 13sec quartermiles.

This car obliterates the 370z, 335i, and G37 coupe all for a lower price point.
Where are all the GM haters now?

All the reviews are saying the quality of the interior is still terrible so I doubt this will silence many (or any) of the GM haters...Car and Driver also said this is not a car for the twisties but a straight line performer, but I think their comments were more related to poor visibility than lack of dynamic abilitiy.

MotorTrend said the SS was "'stiffer [than the V6], but still pliable and planted" and it was comparable to any "of the best sport coupes from Europe and Japan". Also the fact that it obliterates the Nurburgring times of the 335i, and S5, should shut the haters up. Maybe it's a straight line car that performs better in the twisties than the 335i and S5?

1) Good performance 2) Good ride 3) Luxury If I was going for the fastest car or some kind of track dynamo I wouldn't have purchased the cars I did. Not sure why you felt the need to get so defensive, perhaps you should be spending time on a GM board rather than randomly spouting off about the perceived weaknesses you feel BMWs have

I wasn't even specifically talking about your cars. Who is being defensive now?
I was specifically talking about your somewhat uninformed comment about the Camaro SS being a "straight line performer" based on a review you read, when it clearly destroys the 335i, and S5 on the track according to its Nurburgring times. It's clearly not like the muscle cars of the past, but instead it's a very balanced and capable vehicle in the turns, with tons of straight line speed. Chill out drama.

Looks like GM delivered a solid product. It's nice to see the design hasn't changed much at all from the early renderings plus it's got the straight line performance numbers to match.
Sangyup Lee certainly did well with the exterior and I don't think the interior isn't too bad. But I doubt it'll get a second glance from people who are checking out the 3 series, G coupe, 370z, or genesis coupe. It's just a different type of car.

Meh, it's not just the domestics. I've never been a fan of Toyota's interiors. Honda has gone off the buttons per square inch deep end. Some would argue that BMW's interior is too sparse for luxo brand (7 series notwithstanding). Interiors are hard to get right. They're also the part of the car most likely to be raped by the beancounters since you can't really paper spec an interior.

I'll have to go drive one, if I can find a dealer. All the ones I know of within 10 miles went out of bussiness

Had a chance to sit in one at the autoshow........ The interior made me want to vomit. Even with the performance, due to the quality inside, no way would I purchase such a car.

Oh, I agree. I was just saying that the domestics don't have a monopoly on bad interiors.

i think its because people have their standards too high. i mean, the car is cheap but you get great performance. most other countries you get dog slow cars but with decent interiors. just the way it is...

Looks WAY too psuedo-modern.
370Z did it right. Simple and effective without useless flare. I had an '03 Cobra for quite a while. I really don't mind plastics in the interior as long as it is driver friendly. None of my cars have been bought based on any interior criteria other than how well it fits and works while I'm driving, though some have been better than others, with my S60R being the standout winner by a HUGE margin.

Saw a new Camaro on the I10 right outside of Tucson yesterday afternoon and it looked really nice in person but yeah, the interior looks a little goofy.
