iPhone help; is 8GB enough or need 16GB?

Want to get an iPhone, but don't know how big are the downloadable contents like games and stuff, is a 8GB enough for some photos, musics, videos, and downloadable contents or need a 16GB? Thanks in advance!

applications are not that big (200kb-a few MB) but some intense games can be close to 100MB

to get an idea
pandora 500KB
facebook 778kb
shazam 600kb

really depends on you music/photos content, that will be the most of your space.
how many songs you want or need.

i bout the 8 because i already have an 80GB classic. but im back using my blackberry anyway.

I have the 16gb iTouch, I don't think 8gb is enough.

I got 16 because I wanted to replace my ipod for the most part. My ipod sits in my car - iphone comes anywhere else I need it, like work or the gym. For my music its more than enough but it doesn't fit all the videos I have.

if you going to have videos and shows, get a 16gb. Otherwise you should be good with an 8gb

When Apple decides to stop fucking around and release an iPhone with at least 32GB, I'll get one. I spend a decent amount of time travelling, and I use my 80GB Classic to watch movies in flight. The little screen sucks, but it sure helps pass the time. My laptop barely lasts 1 hour 20 minutes on battery power, so that is a no-go. But at 16GB, I won't be able to bring along a decent size selection of movies.

Now, if Apple would REALLY stop fucking their customers and put in an SD or MicroSD slot, as well as a user-replaceable battery, then they'll really be a "consumer-centric" organization. As it stands now, other companies, even Micro$oft, are more "consumer-centric" and don't screw the consumer as bad as Apple does.

i would go towards the 16gb if you like music and really are using the iphone for more than just a phone

but if its just a phone to you then go with the 8gb

And why would you think that I'm not a good candidate to own one? Because I'm not drinking the Apple kool-aid and unhappy that they don't offer consumer-friendly features?

And since they've had the 32GB iPod Touch out for awhile, it would seem that releasing a 32GB iPhone wouldn't be a monumental engineering undertaking for Apple.

My work provides a Blackberry, which is decent for email, OK as a phone, but crappy for everything else (music, videos, internet, games, etc.) My wife has an iPhone and I like it quite a lot. It's just the memory capacity doesn't meet my needs, especially not 16GB. I can probably live with 32GB though, and 32GB native plus an SDHC slot would be even better. But Apple doesn't want you to use removeable memory, they want you to buy the latest version if you need more memory, even if you have a perfectly good device still. That isn't very consumer-centric in my opinion.

it really boils down to what you are planning to use it for....8 gigs is generally big enough for most users.....but not enough for those who like to watch videos and movies.
I have a 16gig...3 pages of apps, 200 songs....a bunch of pics.....21 episodes of south park, Seinfeld and 3 movies....and i still have 7 gigs....just to give you an idea.
cheers,

i already have a nano for music so i use the iphone for apps and phone so that's why I got the 8 gig. If you plan on using your iphone for movies and music, I would probably go with the 16 gig.
