I'd like to see a return to someone walking in front of my car with a red flag. That way I'd feel safer and other motorists would be alerted to my presence on the road.

The rise in population and in number of drivers that they simply dont know how to drive, will become the pretext to put speed limits under 70 and in the future we cannot drive. The car will be submitted to a central computer which controls everybody. They are going to destroy the pleasure of driving if they can. Against hitlery there and here ...

hillary sounds awfully conservative for a democrat. i agree she has a very little chance in the next election just because she's already managed most young people to hate her and already possesses nicknames like "uptight bitch" or "ice queen" before the campaign even officially started.

Sounds sensible to me.
80mph is a perfectly acceptable speed these days ... 55mph on the other hand is just dangerous - you'll be nodding off if you try to drive a couple of hundred miles on an empty road at 55mph. |

I lived in El Paso in the early 80's when the national speed limit was 55 -- I fondly remember the Director of the Department of Public Safety (the state police) being interviewed on a news show saying that his officers had better things to do than bother people who were going 10 or 15 mph over the speed limit.
No matter what the speed limit is, no one is going to drive 55 across a perfectly flat road in the middle of the desert in broad daylight! |
