What's to not like about a Double-Double animal style, large fries, and a chocolate shake? :respekt:
Anyone spoutin' off that In-N-Out burger is crap, had better have some proof to back up them thar claimzz . Such as I'll need an address and a suggestion as to what to try from said burger joint. Gotta make my own opinion up, ya know

there are no In and Out places on the the east coast. but frankly, when i had it for the first time, it wasn't THE BEST burger i've ever had. it's pretty damn good, but i think 5 guys is just as good. white castle give me the runs...screw that place.

Winnipeg burger stands have the best burgers ever. While I love In 'N Out for that amazing freshness, there's nothing like good old double fried french fries and a chili burger from Mrs. Mikes, VJ's, or Juniors.

The reason some people hate In N Out is because its the most overrated weaksauce excuse for a burger ever conceived. Cool bumper stickers, cool t-shirts... But their burgers are average at best.
Its like its this yuppy west coast burger place that everyone says is cool, so there's this uncanny hype for it to live up to. Uber letdown. We have Backyard Burger back east and it destroys In N Out. |

It really depends on what you are looking for. I happen to LOVE In 'n Out, but sometimes I want a burger with a little more oomph to it. So I go to another place. Unfortunately the other place only has one location and they are in the middle of nowhere on the Sacramento river. So i go to In n Out
Just one comment from personal experience. My freshman year of college we didn't get to pick roommates and i got stuck with a guy that without even eating one, because he was from the east coast, told me In n out sucked. Two years later he came up to me and apologized because he actually visited San Diego, had a burger there and realized it really was the best burger in the world. But anyways, thank you for starting this thread 3 days before I move back east. Thank you for reminding me I will never have a good burger for at least two years. Thank you. |

In N Out is amazing. Double Animal style hold the tomato. Grilled onions, animal style fries and your good to go. Not too expensive either!!! If you want a burger with more ooomph. Kirks or Juicyburger are pretty good, but PRICEY

Johnny Rockets burgers have been the best I have had, fresh made while you watch with 100% real beef and all fresh ingredients (the best one I have been to was actually in the middle east...Salmiya, Kuwait)

Most burger places use cheap tasteless white flour buns. Why can't they offer a bun with some substance to it, with options like whole grain, pumpernickel or rye? I prefer making my own burgers on the bbq, served on a nice whole wheat Kaiser. It's all about the bun.

What, no Whataburger fanatics have checked in? ; -)
And KC's entry, Winsteads - once described by Calvin Trillin as the best restaurant in the world (with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek ; -). |

I need to make something a little more clear. In-N-Out is the best fast food burger in SoCal.
If I am looking for the all out absolute best hamburger, then I am going to either Father's Office in Santa Monica, or over to Pineapple Hill Saloon, in Sherman Oaks, for one of their Kona Burgers. Pineapple Hill serves the best tasting hamburger in LA, HANDS DOWN. Only bummer is they don't have beer on tap, only bottles. That's one area that In-N-Out can't touch The Hill, In-N-Out is dry, no booze

In and Out is too hyped up for east coasters
When i went there i was expecting something out of this world. Fries with secret sauce were amazing and animal style burger was pretty good but i would still take 5 guys over that any day

The folks at Gates & Sons BBQ in KC scream, "Hi, may I help you?!" as soon as you walk in the door. She Who Must Be Obeyed refuses to go there for that reason alone. ; -)
